DACC Ag Day 2017

The Danville Area Community College Ag Club, with the support of area agricultural organizations, businesses and individuals, takes this opportunity to announce Ag Day 2017.  Children and adults, including farmers, will find a variety of events available to them on FRIDAY, APRIL 21 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the DACC campus.

A special feature of the day is a barbecue luncheon that will be served from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Mary Miller Gym.  Carry-out lunches are not available.  The luncheon will consist of a pork barbecue sandwich, applesauce, baked beans, potato chips, and milk or Pepsi and will be served for 50¢—the price the farmer usually receives for these products after producing and selling them!  Additional donations are gladly accepted.  The lunch is served by the DACC Ag Club, DACC students and staff, and local FFA chapters.

Other items of interest during the day include a barnyard petting zoo, pedal tractor pulls for the children, tractors and farm equipment displays, and a tour through the DACC Greenhouse. Schools that are bringing classes to the petting zoo and activities should call 443-8768 to make reservations.

Local FFA Chapters, DACC, local ag businesses and community organizations will have exhibits in the Mary Miller Gym.

The public is cordially invited.  There is no cost except for the farmer’s price luncheon.
