Hoopeston Police Department Report October 29-31, 2017

Warrant Arrest H17-4532
Time: 1:26am
Location: E 4000 Rd/N 1650 Rd
Arrested: Curtis Miller (44) Rossville male
Details: While on patrol, HPD officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Mr. Miller was driving.  A computer check revealed that subject had an outstanding warrant
through Vermilion County for Failure to Appear.  Subject was arrested and taken
to HPD.  He was processed and later released after posting bond and given a
new court date.
 
Residential Burglary H17-4523

Location: 500 blk S Market
Complainant: 50 year old Texas Woman
Details: Complainant reported unknown person(s) entered the residence
and removed several items without her permission.
 
 
Traffic Accident H17-4553

Location: 200 blk E Main
Unit #1: 2014 GMC Terrain driven by Michele Vandenberg-Leppard (65) of Hoopeston
Unit #2: 2006 Pontiac Torrent driven by Donald Stebbins (53) of Hoopeston
Details: As Unit 2 was backing out of parking space, Unit 1 decided to start
backing out.  Unit 1 collided with Unit 2 which was already in process
of backing out..  No citations issued.
 
 
Possession of Methamphetamine; Operating Uninsured Vehicle; Improper Registration Lighting H17-4564 V17-10475
Date & Time: October 30, 2017 10:44pm
Location: 1st Ave/Penn St
Arrested: Aaron Cannon (26) of Hoopeston
Details: Officers conducted a routine traffic stop due to improper registration lighting, after further investigation Mr. Cannon was charged with the above and taken to HPD where he was processed and later transported to the PSB to await arraignment. 
 
Theft H17-4343
Date & Time Occurred: October 19, 2017 11:00 am
Date & Time Reported: October 19, 2017 5:06 pm
Location: 600 blk E. Wyman
Complainant: 30 year old Hoopeston female
Details: Officers responded to the above location reference a theft report.
An investigation continues. 
CASE SOLVED:   After investigation was complete,  On October 31, 2017  at 10:45 am  Max A. Jones (45) was charged with THEFT OVER.  Subject was already in custody at PSB on unrelated charges from Vermilion County SO.
 
 
Aggravated Battery    H17-4525      V17-10480
Time & Date: October 28, 2017  4:21pm
Location: 300 blk E Main
Complainant: 45 year old Hoopeston male
Arrested: Elyscha C Wells (20) of Hoopeston
Details: On the above date and time,  the complainant called from Hospital advising he was battered the night before and is now seeking treatment.  After a 3 day investigation and interviews, the above subject was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Battery.  He was transported to PSB for Arraignment.
