Hoopeston Police Department Report Weekend Report

Possession of Controlled Substance, Harboring a Runaway, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver                                               H18-3966, V18-6381

Time:                    06:32 am

Location:              710 W Orange Street, Budget Mini Storage

Arrested:               Austin Messmore (25) of Danville

Details:                 HPD responded to the above location in reference to a subject to be removed. After an investigation, Messmore was taken to HPD where he was charged, processed and later transported to the PSB to await arraignment.

 

 

Fire Call

Time:                    12:10pm,

Location:              300 block N 9th Avenue

Details:                 HFD was called to the area for a tree limb fell on power lines and knocked

it to the ground. Ameren responded to assist with the issue.  No fire or damage to property.

 

 

Theft (Under)                H18-3977

Time:                    5:22pm

Location:              500 block of Maple St

Complainant:        (20) year old Hoopeston female

Details:                 Complainant contacted HPD when she discovered that person(s) unknown and without permission took money from her residence. Investigation continues.

Warrant Arrest H18-3988
Time: 12:50am
Location: 500 blk W Penn
Arrested: Heather Cibirka (34) Hoopeston female
Details: HPD officers stopped the vehicle that Ms. Cibirka was a passenger in.  A
Computer check revealed that she had an outstanding Pike County warrant.
Subject was taken to HPD to be processed.  She was able to post bond and was
Released with a new court date.
 
Possession Controlled Substance, Driving While Suspended H18-3988 V18-6404
Time: 12:50 AM
Location: 500 block W Penn Street 
Arrested: Darren Wood (M) (34) of Hoopeston 
Details: HPD conducted a traffic stop which Mr. Wood was the driver. A computer check
revealed that his driver’s license was suspended.  An investigation found a
controlled substance in the vehicle.   He was transported to HPD, processed and
later transferred to PSB Danville to await arraigment.

Owners of these bikes may come to HPD to claim, but be prepared to identify the bikes in great detail.   It should also be note that all unclaimed property is disposed of if not claimed.  
 
Wallet Recovered
Time: 09:45 am
Details: A wallet was found on the sidewalk in the 400 block of N Market that belongs to Rafael Resendez.    He may pick it up at Hoopeston Police Department at City Hall. 
 
 
 
Warrant Arrest (Vermilion Co) H18-3997 
Time: 4:46 pm 
Location:      Marathon Parking Lot, 714 W Orange Street 
Arrested: Daryl Brown (M) (29) of Hoopeston 
Details: Mr. Brown was taken into custody after a computer check revealed that he had
an outstanding Vermilion County Warrant.  Subject was taken to HPD, processed
and later released after posting bond and given a new court date.
 
Traffic Accident H18-4003
Time: 7:32pm
Location: 200 blk S 2nd Ave
Unit #1: 2008 Buick 4D owned by Samantha King (31) (F) of Rossville
Unit #2: Power Pole owned by Ameren
Details: HPD officers were called to the area in reference to a vehicle versus pole.  The 
driver of Unit #1 had backed into an Ameren power pole.  She was issued 2 tickets
for Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident.
Arrow Ambulance was called to check out minor injuries but did not transport.
 

Criminal Damage to Auto      H18-4014

Time:                    11:35am

Location:              300 block of W. Penn

Complainant:        (41) year old female of Hoopeston

Details:                 Complainant contacted HPD when she noticed damage done to her vehicle.

                             Investigation continues.

 

 

Criminal Damage (Over)        H18-4016

Time:                    2:22pm

Location:              500 block of N. 9th ave

Complainant:        (23) year old Cissna Park female

Details:                 Complainant contacted HPD when she discovered that a rock thrown at her vehicle had done damage. Investigation continues.
