Hoopeston Police Department Report 11/24-11/25/18

Warrant Arrest                       H18-6419

Time:          12:21am

Location:    426 W Orange, VFW

Arrested:     Jessica Stipp (37)(F) of Hoopeston

Details:       HPD officers were called to the above location because Ms. Stipp was there

                   and had an outstanding Vermilion County warrant.  Subject was arrested and

                   taken to HPD to be processed.  She was later released after providing bond, and

                   she was given a new court date.

 

Fire Alarm Dispatched

Time:           11:06 AM

Location:    41000 Cheneyville Rd

Details:       HFD was dispatched to report of a residential fire alarm activation, smoke detector.  Turned out to be burnt food call off prior to arrival.   No report of damage

Time:          7:45pm

Location:    115 E. Orange St (Casey’s)

Details:       HFD was dispatched to the above in reference to a burning smell.

 

Open Container Prohibited; Interference with Police Prohibited             H18-6429

Time:          5:23pm

Location:    5th Ave/W. Washington

Cited:          Zachary Garman (27) of Hoopeston

Cited:          George Watson (59) of Hoopeston

Details:       HPD officers stopped the vehicle that Mr. Garman was a passenger in for a

                   traffic violation.  Mr. Garman was found to have an open container in the vehicle

                   and was arrested.  While on scene, Mr. Watson approached the vehicle and

                   refused to leave.  He was given a city citation and court date for Interference

                   with Police Prohibited.  Mr. Garman was brought to HPD, processed with a 

                   notice to appear in city court for Open Container Prohibited. 

 

 Expired Driver’s License, No Proof of Insurance         H18-6438

Time:          04:54 am

Location:    200 E Lincoln Street

Arrested:     Hamby, Cherrica E.A. (F) (30) of Hoopeston

Details:       HPD officers stopped the vehicle that Ms. Hamby was driving for a traffic

                   violation.  A computer check revealed that she had an expired driver’s license.

                   Subject was arrested and transported to HPD to be processed.  She was later

                   released with 2 traffic citations and traffic court date.

 

Burglary to Residence                      H18-6440

Time:             06:19 AM

Location:       300 block W Penn Street

Complainant:  25 year old Hoopeston Male

Details:          HPD officers were called to the above location because the complainant found

                      the residence to be unsecure and unknown subjects had entered the residence

                      without permission.  An investigation continues.          

 

Glasses Found

Details:       A pair of glasses with case was found in the bathroom of the civic center.  The

                   owner can identify and claim at HPD.
