Hoopeston Police Department Report 7/20/19

Traffic Accident (Hit & Run)           H19-3866     V19-5972

Time:          03:58 am

Location:    W Chestnut Street/S Dixie Highway

Unit 1:                  Unknown Fled Scene  

Property Damage:           Ameren Illinois Power Light Pole and Lighting Head

Details:       At the time of the report suspect vehicle struck the light pole and breaking it off at ground level.  Suspect Vehicle fled north on Dixie Highway.   Damage estimate from Ameren Illinois is around $3,000 dollars or more to replace pole and light fixture. 

 

**Update Accident Report** Arrest

Time:          09:52 AM

Location of Custody:      300 block W Penn Street

Arrested:     13 year old Male Juvenile of Hoopeston

Details:        At the above time and location the juvenile was located and taken into custody for the accident.  Theft (Over) charge, Resisting Arrest, No Valid Driver’s License, Leaving the scene of Accident, Failure to Report an Accident, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed.  The Male was processed at HPD and later transferred to JDC Danville

 

 

Driving with No Valid Illinois License       H19-3880

Time:          5:28 PM

Location:    511 W Main St

Arrested:     Andrew Cordova (24) of Hoopeston

Details:       Officers conducted a traffic stop after observing Mr. Colunga driving. A computer

                   check confirmed that Colunga was driving with no valid license. Colunga was

                   taken to HPD, where he was charged, processed, and later released with a NTA in

                   traffic court.

 

 

Traffic Accident   H19-3878

Time:                    2:22pm

Location:              400 block of N. Dixie Hwy

Unit #1:                 2014 Semi driven by Alvin Lynn of Citrus Springs FL

Property Damage: Ameren Power Pole

Details:                 The driver of Unit #1 took a right turn onto W. McCracken. Throughout the turn the trailer caught the powerline causing damage. No injuries reported. No citations issued. Unit was insured.
