Two Men Shot in Danville

Danville Police say a 21-year-old man has died after being shot early today (April 20, 2020).  Police Commander Joshua Webb says officers responded to the unit block of Columbus Street around 1:15 this morning on a report of two people being shot.  When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old male who was unresponsive who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  A second 21-year-old man had been shot in the leg, according to Webb.  The names of the two men who were shot have not been released (as of early Monday afternoon), but police say both are from Danville.

 

The man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds was later pronounced dead.  The leg wound suffered by the second man was not life-threatening according to police.

 

Danville Police say their preliminary investigation found the two men were together outside a residence when someone approached and started shooting at them.  No suspect information is available at this time and no other injuries were reported.
