Vermilion County Covid 19 update

Update on Cases

2 new cases and 0 releases today.  We will be removing one of our cases from yesterday as after more investigations, it was determined that they were not from Vermilion County and were transferred to the appropriate jurisdiction.  This brings our total of active cases to 26.  Twenty-five of the active cases are at home in isolation and we have one case still hospitalized at this moment.  None of the new cases are hospitalized.   1 case in their teens and one case in their 50s.

Testing

·         Aunt Martha’s – Walk-in testing available – sliding scale fee or insurance.  Please see the attached as they have a Mobile Clinic Van available!!!

·         Carle  -  Testing is available, but have certain requirements as you must be symptomatic and I believe a Carle Patient.  I am trying to get a little more information.

·         OSF:  Testing only available at their Prompt Care location only:  In order to be tested through Prompt Care, either the patient will need to have the test ordered through their OSF provider, or they will need to call the OSF hotline to get a test in process for them.  We do schedule the testing, as it is collected while the patient remains in their car.  If they are not currently an OSF patient –they may also go to Prompt Care as a patient and request the test if required by the school, or to be examined to determine if there is an alternative diagnosis ---i.e. strep.  OSF does charge for the testing –and most insurances have it as a covered service ---best to check with their insurance as to patient responsibility if there are questions as plans differ. OSF COVID-19 Nurse Hotline, available 24/7, at (833) OSF-KNOW (833-673-5669).

·         Champaign Community Based Testing – free (they may bill insurance), no appointment at Market Place Mall.  Open regardless of symptoms.  8-4 or until supplies are gone

New/Helpful Guidance or Updates

·         IDPH added the county metrics for schools. http://www.dph.illinois.gov/countyschool?county=Vermilion.  They also added the Adaptive Pause and Metrics:  Interim school guidance for LHD:  This will help us know whether we need to pivot to remote learning or other restrictions if there is a large outbreak.  https://www.isbe.net/Documents/IDPH-Adaptive-Pause-Metrics.pdf
