Update on Cases
Today, we have 4 new cases and 1 has been released. We have a total of 93 active cases, with 90 at home in isolation and 3 hospitalized. None of our new cases are hospitalized. We have 1 case in their 20s, 1 in their 30s, 1 in their 40s, and 1 in their 60s. Connections include workplace and exposure to household members who are positive. While this number looks much better than yesterday, this is what we were able to get to today as with each active case includes many people who are contacts that we have to get in touch with.
Rumor Mill
Yesterday, there was some confusion about my quarantine guidance post and I apologize for any confusion. I would like to clarify that what I posted yesterday was what is the actual guidance and it was not the rumor.
Many people believe they can test out of quarantine or if they wear a mask then it doesn’t count as a close contact, those are the rumors I was addressing.
This is the ACTUAL GUIDANCE: Quarantine is what happens when you have been identified as a close contact to a positive case. If you have been exposed to someone with a positive COVID19 test, you MUST quarantine for 14 days after last exposure. You cannot test out of quarantine. What is the definition of “close contact”? A Close Contact is someone that is closer than 6 feet for more than 15 cumulative minutes masked or unmasked. It is possible that you may have to quarantine longer than 14 days if you are living with a person who is positive for COVID19 and cannot isolate from them.
