Update on Cases

Over the weekend:  59 new cases and 43 released.  IDPH is reporting that we have 20 deaths from COVID19.  We are waiting on information on residency for some of these before we will report.

Today’s cases:  Our case numbers will be low as our CD Coordinator will be out today, but back in this evening to confirm the names of our new cases so there is no duplication.  We are working as hard as we can to pull in contact tracers from other departments to try to catch up, but it is a never-ending task.  We hope to pull in even more contact tracers soon.

12 new cases today and 1 released from isolation.  This puts us at 241 active cases with 220 in home isolation and 21 still hospitalized.  We unfortunately can report that we had an additional death, a female in their 100s.  This is our 15th confirmed COVID19 death.  Our hearts go out to their family and friends.

Outbreak / Increased Case Information

  • There are increased cases or outbreaks in the following areas:
    • Congregate Living Facilities – both staff and residents
    • Large and Small Gatherings - small gatherings are especially cause for concern as people usually are around close friends and family when masks and social distancing are not being done.
    • Households – once it gets into a household, it spreads very quickly if the individuals cannot social distance and mask from each other.
    • Industries
    • Workplaces
    • Schools / Daycares – Mainly at the schools, we are seeing kids and teachers out because of outside exposures and not necessarily an in house outbreak.  I would like to thank our schools for doing a GREAT job!!  It’s not an easy task at all.  I also want to thank the schools for helping us with contact tracing when it comes to the schools!!  We really couldn’t do this without you!

Rumor Mill

  • Rumor is:  You can test out of quarantine.  THIS IS FALSE.  You cannot test out of being in quarantine.  Remember, quarantine is if you were exposed to someone with COVID19.
  • Rumor is:  You can still go to work if you test positive.  THIS IS FALSE.  You should never allow an employee to work if they test positive.  There are some instances when a critical infrastructure worker can work if they have been exposed, but that is it and extra precautions must be taken.

Testing Information

  • IMPORTANT:  If your agency is doing any testing, please make sure that your negative and positive results are being submitted through IDPH’s redcap system.  If you are not registered in redcap, you MUST create an account and begin to enter your results.  https://redcap.dph.illinois.gov/ This is crucial that our county accounts for every test we do.
  • Testing Results:  To get results for mobile testing, you an call 1-800-889-3931 or 1-888-297-7208.  Please wait at least 3-4 days after testing before you call.  The State of Illinois Testing Center should call, but this is just in case.
