ILLINOIS STATE POLICE DIVISION OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION CONDUCT DEATH INVESTIGATION

 The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Zone 5, are conducting an investigation into an incident that has left one person dead and another hospitalized in rural Champaign County.

On Feb. 6, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., ISP District 10 officers and local Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel responded to an emergency call for service on US RT 136.  Upon arrival, two injured subjects were located inside a vehicle; one 37-year-old female was transported to an area hospital and the other, Robert L. Ogburn, 46-year-old male of Ludlow,  IL was pronounced deceased on scene by the Champaign County Coroner. This is believed to be an isolated incident.

The ISP DCI is continuing the investigation, along with the Champaign County States Attorney’s Office, and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office.  No additional information will be released at this time.  Anyone who witnessed or has any knowledge of the incident is asked to contact the ISP at ISP.Zone05.Media@Illinois.gov.
