Mitigation Updates – Region Six in Phase 4

Current Positivity Rate for Region 6 is:   3.4%
Vermilion County’s Positivity Rate is:     5.5%  (we had a daily positivity rate of 10.8 on 2/19 which caused our rate to jump a bit)
ICU Availability:  50%

Vaccination Updates

11,938 vaccine doses have been administered to Vermilion County residents.  2,224 have been fully vaccinated.

We are taking a waiting list now while we wait for vaccine to come in.  For Phase 1a and 1b, they may call 217-431-2662 ext. 263 or 264 during the following times and days:  9am-2pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Beginning 2/25 (those with underlying health conditions under the age of 65) may also call to get on a waiting list.   We may be able to add some of our waiting list to our upcoming clinics as we see some vaccine trickle in.


Questions / Concerns / New Guidance


  *   Guidance should be coming out soon about quarantine after being fully vaccinated.  IDPH is waiting for approval and will send out a SIREN release soon.


Case updates
   60 new cases and 40 released.  287 active cases with 13 hospitalized.  We had an additional death, a gentleman in his 50s.  Our hearts go out to his family and friends.  This brings our total confirmed deaths to 103.  We unfortunately have a few more that we are waiting on confirmation.
