Vermilion County Covid 19 update 3/8/21

We are reporting 34 new cases today (one resident in their 80s, two in their 70s, five in their 60s, four in their 50s, one in their 40s, two in their 30s, five in their 20s, six teens, and eight grade-school-aged children), and 83 released, which brings us to a total of 8,533 positive cases.

We are saddened to report another 12 COVID-related deaths (occurring over the past 10 weeks) -- two women in their 90s, two women in their 80s, two women in their 70s, four men in their 80s, one man in his 70s, and a man in his 60s.  Our sympathies go out to their families and friends.  We have lost a total of 118 Vermilion County residents to COVID-related deaths since this pandemic began.

There are currently five Vermilion County residents with COVID hospitalized.  There are currently 222 active COVID cases in the county.  We have received 106,350 negative test results.

We are working with some new partners, and plan to offer COVID vaccination clinics -- including drive-through clinics -- at some new locations soon.
