Vermilion County Covid 19 update 3/11/21

I had hoped to announce a robust plan to provide vaccination clinics around Vermilion County, but vaccine scarcity is forcing us to adopt a more modest plan.

We expect to vaccinate 600 people at the Fischer Theatre today.

In addition to that, mobile vaccination teams will be visiting some of the county's larger employers tomorrow, Friday and Monday.

On Monday and Wednesday, a vaccination team plans to vaccinate a total of 650 people at DACC.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, a vaccination team plans to vaccinate a total of 825 people at the airport.

We had hoped to give as many as 1,680 vaccinations at DACC on Monday and Wednesday, and had hoped to give as many as 2,250 vaccinations at the airport on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Sadly, we do not have the vaccine for that.

Also, we have temporarily closed registration to any clinics beyond that.  We will reopen registration when we have enough vaccine to operate those clinics.

We are keeping enough vaccine to allow us to provide second-dose vaccinations to those who already have appointments for at the Fischer on March 18.

We appreciate the additional resources the State is making available to us.  I wish we had enough vaccine to utilize those resources to the fullest.
