Vermilion County Covid 19 update 5/5/21

We are reporting 18 new cases today (one resident in their 80s, one in their 70s, two in their 60s, two in their 50s, two in their 40s, two in their 30s, four in their 20s, three teens, and one pre-schooler), and 2 released, which brings us to a total of 9,277 positive cases.

We have lost a total of 133 Vermilion County residents to COVID-related deaths since this pandemic began.

There are currently 9 Vermilion County residents with COVID hospitalized.  There are currently 131 active COVID cases in the county.  We have received 139,191 negative test results.

Please continue to be vigilant.  Make smart choices.  Be safe.

We have two COVID-vaccination clinics coming up this week :

Wednesday, May 5 -- a single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oakwood Grade School, 408 S. Scott Street in Oakwood.

Thursday, May 6 -- a single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccination clinic from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Salt Fork Junior High, 7087 N. 600 East Road in rural Sidell.

Although we are trying to vaccinate as many Vermilion County residents as possible against COVID, all three clinics this week are open to any Illinois resident.  If you have questions, or want to register over the phone, please call 431-2662, ext. 263 or 264.


Also, we will hold our Electronics Collection Event this Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the front parking lot at DACC.  Please help us to get the word out about this event.
