Vermilion County Covid 19 update 5/27/21

We are reporting 25 new cases (four residents in their 70s, five in their 60s, two in their 50s, one in their 40s, seven in their 30s, three in their 20s, two teens, and one grade-school-aged child), and 42 released, which brings us to a total of 9,876 positive cases.

We have lost a total of 137 Vermilion County residents to COVID-related deaths since this pandemic began.

There are currently 15 Vermilion County residents with COVID hospitalized. There are currently 142 active COVID cases in the county.

Of the 25 cases being reported today, one of them told us they have been fully vaccinated.

Our next COVID-vaccination clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, May 27 at the Vermilion County Health Department. Adults will be able to receive a Moderna vaccination or a Johnson & Johnson vaccination at that clinic. People can register for the clinic at www.vchd.org<http://www.vchd.org>, or can call 431-2662, ext. 263 or 264.

Masks will be required at our events.

The Illinois National Guard personnel will only be assisting us with our clinics for the next few weeks. We are urging those who are interested in getting COVID vaccinations to do so sooner, rather than later.
