Vermilion County Covid 19 update 6/8/21

We are reporting 19 new cases (one resident in their 70s, one in their 60s, six in their 50s, three in their 40s, one in their 20s, two in their teens, and a grade-school-aged child), and 23 released, which brings us to a total of 9,969 positive cases.

We are saddened to report another COVID-related death, a man in his 50s.  Our sympathies go out to his family and friends.  We have lost a total of 141 Vermilion County residents to COVID-related deaths since this pandemic began.

There are currently 8 Vermilion County residents with COVID hospitalized.  There are currently 65 active COVID cases in the county.

Of the 19 cases being reported today, none of them told us they have been fully vaccinated.

We will have four COVID-vaccination clinics coming up this week, providing second-dose Pfizer vaccinations to those who received their first Pfizer vaccinations in May.
