Vermilion County Covid 19 update 6/15/21

Vaccination updates

We completed our 12+ vaccination clinics on Saturday.  We vaccinated about 180 people at these clinics to finish up their 2nd dose.  We do not have any scheduled Pfizer clinics moving forward at this time.  If you have anyone that needs a vaccination and is under the age of 18, they will need to receive their vaccine at one of the local pharmacies.

We will be moving to 1 COVID19 Vaccination clinic per month at the Health Department at this time.  Please see our website for registration information:  www.vchd.org

Attached is the flyer for our Johnson and Johnson Vaccination Clinic at the Danville Dan’s on June 22nd in partnership with OSF Healthcare, Danville Dan’s, and the Illinois National Guard.    Please encourage anyone to come to receive their vaccine!!!!

Moderna submitted their revised EUA to include those 12 years old and older.  They hope to have that approved by early July.  Both Moderna and Pfizer are working on vaccine trials for younger than 12 years old.

Phase 5 Guidance

In case you missed it, the state has fully opened with no capacity limits.    Masks are still asked to be worn if you haven’t been vaccinated.  Businesses and agencies are allowed to continue masking requirements or capacity limits if desired.   Reopening is based on the following metrics and can always go back.  Metrics are looking at vaccination rates,  new hospital admissions, current hospitalizations, ICU bed availability, New Case Trends, and Daily Mortality Rates.   http://www.dph.illinois.gov/statewidemetrics

I have attached the Updated Guidance for all Sports with masking.

IDPH will be moving to a weekly update instead of a daily update moving forward.  Updates will be released on Fridays.

There has been movement to allow the use of water fountains again as there has been no evidence of spreading COVID19 through water fountains.  I have attached information regarding flushing water systems out.  Because we have older systems in many of facilities, you will want to run the water at least 10-15 minutes after it turns cold to make sure that you help with the quality and safety of the water.  These times can vary depending on the system.  This is not limited to just water fountains.  If you have not used certain water facilities in a long time, please make sure they are properly flushed.  You may want to refer to your water utility.  I have included a handout about flushing water systems.
