WHERE: Interstate 74 westbound at milepost 200.5, Vermillion County
WHEN: May 19, 2022 at approximately 8:50 p.m.
VEHICLE: Unit 1 – 2009 Red Harley Davidson Touring Motorcycle
Unit 2 – 2013 Black Jeep Cherokee
DRIVERS: Unit 1 – Timothy E. Davis, a 28-year-old male from Mahomet, IL –
Deceased 
Unit 2 – Essence E. Anderson, a 29-year-old female from Normal, IL – 
Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PASSENGERS: Unit 2 – 6-year-old female from Normal, IL – Transported to an area 
hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Unit 2 – 9-year-old male from Normal, IL – Transported to an area 
hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY: A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was 
traveling in right lane behind Unit 2. Unit 1 failed to reduce its speed and 
crashed into Unit 2. Unit 1 then lost control spinning out and ejecting the 
driver. The driver of Unit 1 was pronounced deceased on scene.
