WHAT:                      Single Vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash

WHERE:                   Interstate 57 southbound near milepost 238, Champaign County

WHEN:                      July 6, 2022 at approximately 2:33 p.m.

VEHICLE:                Unit 1- 2013 Red Ford F150

DRIVER:                   Unit 1- Dennis Ozier, 79-year-old male from Sullivan, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PASSENGERS:         Unit 1- Robert Hochstetler, 58-year-old male from Arcola, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

                                    Unit 1- Raymond Beachy, 46-year-old male from Humboldt, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PRELIMINARY:      A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling south on Interstate 57 near milepost 238 entering a construction zone. The driver of Unit 1 changed lanes within the construction zone and lost control of his vehicle. Unit 1 overturned and came to rest upright across both lanes of southbound traffic.  The driver and both passengers of Unit 1 were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

CHARGES:               Unit 1 driver was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
