The Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden has identified the victim of a shooting that occurred last evening, Thursday, May 4, 2023, on Chandler Street in Danville as 33-year-old Christopher J. Smalls of Danville.

Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden stated that Mr. Smalls’ family has been notified. An autopsy is to be conducted tomorrow. The Danville Police Department and the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.
