Georgetown man locked up for 6 + years for Burglary

On October 13, 2023, Broc Tuggle, formerly of Georgetown, Illinois, was sentenced by the Honorable Charles Hall to six years and six months in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he plead guilty to the offense of Burglary, a Class 1 Felony. Following the sentence of imprisonment, Tuggle must serve 1 year of mandatory supervised release.

During the plea, the Court heard evidence that on May 16, 2023, Tuggle and a co-defendant entered into the well house located at 100 North Road, Ridge Farm, Illinois, without permission. While on the premises, Tuggle and his co-defendant cut a padlock, unplugged the power supply to the security cameras, and took items from the building with a total value greater than $2,000. In addition to being caught on camera, Broc Tuggle’s driver’s license was found lying near the entrance to the property.

State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the Ridge Farm Police Department for their diligent work in this case.
