LIKE FATHER LIKE SON, LACY RELEASES SENTENCE INFORMATION

On November 3, 2023 Tysen Richards Sr., formerly of Danville, IL, plead guilty and was sentenced to one year in the Illinois Department of Corrections for one count of Driving While License Revoked in case 2021CF749 and 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for one count of Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamines in case 2022CF492. The Court heard evidence that on December 23, 2021, Tysen Richards Sr. was stopped for traffic violations near the intersection of Grape Creek Road and Twin Hills Road in rural Danville, Illinois. It was discovered that Richards’ driver’s license had been revoked due to a prior driving under the influence conviction. Additionally, the Court heard evidence that on September 16, 2022, as part of an investigation into delivery of methamphetamine, Tysen Richards Sr. was observed by agents of the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group providing methamphetamines to a confidential source and was subsequently arrested. The Honorable Derek Girton sentenced Tysen Richards Sr. in both cases. The sentences of imprisonment will be served consecutively and followed by six months of mandatory supervised release for 2021CF749 and one year of mandatory supervised release for 2022CF492. States Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department for their efforts in the traffic violation, as well as the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group for their diligent work to keep illegal drugs out of our community
