Potomac Man Sentenced to Prison for Methamphetamine Possession

On October 8, 2024, Charles Parham (DOB 8/10/1990) pleaded guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a class 3 felony. Judge Robert McIntire sentenced Parham to 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Parham’s term of imprisonment will be followed by 6 months of mandatory supervised release. The People presented evidence that on September 1, 2023, Charles Parham was stopped and arrested by Danville Police after an incident of retail theft at Meijer in Danville. Parham was searched by police incident to arrest and his wallet was located in his front pocket. Parham’s wallet was searched and police found a small plastic bag inside containing .2 grams of a crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Testing completed by scientists at the Illinois State Police Forensic Science Laboratory confirmed the substance was positive for methamphetamine. State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the Danville Police Department for their work to get dangerous drugs off the streets of our community.
