Arrested: Joseph Bennett (M) (30) of Henning

John Seiters (M) (64) of Hoopeston

Details: HPD officers were patrolling the area. Mr. Bennett and Mr. Seiters were found to be fishing at the lagoon after the park had closed. Both were cited and released with NTA’s for Hoopeston City Court.

 

Traffic Accident H25-4291

Date/Time: 07/10/25 @ 12:17 p.m.

Location: E McNeil / N. Fourth st

Unit #1: 2013 Buick Encore driven by Tammy Wyman of Cayuga In.

Unit #2: 2024 Jeep Wagoneer driven by Lorina Crabtree of Hoopeston

Details: Traveling northbound on N. Fourth St., Unit #1 failed to yield at yield sign and struck Unit #2 who was traveling eastbound on E. McNeil. Both Units were insured, and no citations or injuries were reported.

 

Domestic Battery, WOW out of Benton Co. H25-2025 / 2025-4882

Time: 9:23 a.m.

Location: 400 blk of E Penn

Arrested: Ronald Weigand (M) (42) of Hoopeston

Details: HPD Officers arrested Mr. Weigand after receiving a report from a 41-year-old Hoopeston female. A computer check then revealed Mr. Weigand to have a valid warrant out of Benton County Indiana. Officers brought Mr. Weigand to the Hoopeston Police Department for processing then later transported him to the Danville Public Safety building to await arraignment.

Criminal Trespass to Vehicle; Possession of Drug ParaphernaliaH25-4314

Location: 400 Blk. of W. Penn St.

Arrested: Juan Acosta (M) (61) of Hoopeston

Details: HPD officers located Mr. Acosta while investigating a trespass to vehicle. He was arrested and brought to HPD for arraignment then later released with an NTA for Vermilion County Court.

 

 

Operating Uninsured Vehicle; Improper Use of Electronic Communication Device H25-4338

Location: S 1st Ave./W. Chestnut St.

Arrested: Corwin Allen (M) (28) of Milford

Details: HPD officers conducted a traffic stop. Mr. Corwin was cited for the above violations then released from the scene with NTA’s for Vermilion County Court.

Arrested: Tierra Arseneau (F) (22) of Hoopeston

Details: HPD officers conducted a traffic stop at the above location. Ms. Arseneau was found to be driving without insurance. She was cited and released with an NTA for Vermilion County Court.
