On 9/7/2025 at 11:31 p.m., HFD responded to the 400 Blk. of Front St. for the smell of a natural gas odor. HFD cleared the scene.

Unit #2: 2024 Kia driven by McKenzie Baughn (F) (40) of Hoopeston

Details: Unit #2 was stopped waiting to pull out onto Route 9 (W Orange) when Unit #1

pulled into the parking lot striking Unit #2. No injuries were reported, no tickets were

issued and both parties were insured.

Cited: Jason Zaragoza (M) (22) of Watseka

Details: HPD officers conducted a traffic stop at the above location and cited for the above violation. Mr. Zaragoza was cited and released from the scene with an NTA for Vermilion Co. court.

Details: Unit #2 was stopped waiting to turn onto s 6th ave when unit #1 Failed to reduce speed and landed on the trailer. No injuries were reported, Ms. Watson was issued an NTA for Vermilion County Court.
