Doug Ahrens will officially announce his candidacy for Mayor of Danville on Thursday, May 21 at 4:00 p.m. at Temple Plaza, a place of personal significance as one of the individuals who helped bring the project to life. In the event of rain, an announcement will be made for an alternate location.

Recent activity around the race has created some early noise, but Ahrens is focused on what matters most, standing before the community to share his vision directly and in his own words.

Ahrens brings more than 30 years of public service to this campaign. His career includes leadership roles as Director of Public Works, Executive Director of the Danville Sanitary District, and currently as Alderman for Ward 7. His work has centered on managing critical infrastructure, guiding complex operations, and making decisions that shape the daily experience of Danville residents.

His campaign is built on a clear belief. The Danville community deserves to expect more from their mayor.
