The Danville Dans are ready to welcome back their loyal fans and new enthusiasts this summer with the return of summer wood bat baseball at historic Danville Stadium. This season features the return of old favorites and exciting new experiences.
The season begins on Tuesday, May 26. Tuesdays will again be Cheap Seat Tuesdays, with $3 tickets, $2 Busch Lights as well as hot dog and fountain soda specials. Opening Night will also have Magnet Schedules for the first 250 fans, and fireworks after the game.
The Dans Band will be back this year entertaining fans between innings on June 2 (a doubleheader starting at 5:30 pm), June 23 and July 28. And on June 20 we’ll celebrate the 80th anniversary of Danville Stadium.
Other special nights will include specials on July 2 & 3 – including fireworks after the game on the 2nd. Another special night will be Baseball Unplugged, a step back in time with no walk-up music, no PA announcements and no videoboard. It will be a night designed to be sensory-friendly for fans who find modern game-day environments a bit overwhelming.
For the first time in 14 years, the Dans will have a new field manager, as Eric Coleman is not returning to Danville. Taking the reins is Cameron Gross, who is an assistant at IU Columbus. He’s previously coached summer ball in Florida and played in the Prospect League as a Kokomo Jackrabbit.
Ticket prices for the season are $8 for adults, $5 for kids age 6-12, and 5 & under are free. Tuesdays are $3 each, and Sundays are $6 for adults. Other nightly specials include 217 Night on Thursdays, with two tickets and two Busch Lights are just $17. And Friday night features Happy Hour, with $1 off all draft beers from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Season ticket books can be purchased online or at the ticket desk and are $140 for 28 tickets that can be used at any game. Fun Packs – which has eight tickets and $10 in Dan$ Dollar$ – are available for $65 each.
