On April 2, 2026, Brian Torres (DOB: 2/12/1991), formerly of Danville, Illinois, pleaded guilty to Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, a class X felony. Under the terms of his plea agreement, Torres faced a maximum possible sentence of 25 years in prison. At a contested sentencing hearing on June 12, 2026, the People presented evidence in aggravation, including the defendant’s prior conviction for Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm and argued for the maximum sentence of 25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. After considering the evidence and arguments presented by both parties, the Court sentenced the defendant to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The sentence will be served at 85% and will be followed by a term of 3 years to natural life of mandatory supervised release, to be determined by the Prison Review Board. Torres is classified as a sexual predator, requiring lifetime sex offender registration. The plea and sentencing were presided over by Judge Mark S. Goodwin.
