Date/Time of Arrest: 7/28/2026 @ 4:01 p.m.

Location of Arrest: 301 W Main St (HPD)

Arrested: Brandon Grills (M) (26) of Hoopeston

Details: HPD officers located Mr. Grills after an investigation for the above charges. Mr. Grills was arrested, processed at HPD, then later transported to the PSB in Danville to await arraignment.

 

 

Traffic Accident-Registration of Low-Speed Electric Bicycle H26-3857

Date/Time of Incident: 7/27/2026 @ 1:13 p.m.

Location: 1030 W. Chestnut St.

Unit 1: E-Scooter driven by Kurtis Simpson (M) (41) of Hoopeston

Unit 2: 2015 Chevrolet Utility driven by Daniel Muller of Rankin

Details: Unit 1 was traveling southbound on the cart path, failed to stop at the stop sign then entered the parking lot. Unit 2 was traveling westbound in the parking lot and struck Unit 1. Arrow responded to the scene with no injuries reported. Unit 2 was insured and no insurance was required for Unit 1. Unit 1 received a citation for Registration of Low-Speed Electric Bicycle.
