Traffic Accident H26-4910 Date/Time: 9/10/2026 @ 3:06 p.m. Location: 300 Blk of N 9th Ave. Unit #1: Unit #2: Details: 2012 GMC Utility driven by Neveah Mitchell of Hoopeston 2021 Toyota Utility driven by Kathy Patton of Mahomet, IL While backing out of a driveway, Unit 1 struck Unit 2 which was traveling northbound on N 9th Ave. Both units were insured and no citations were issued.

Upon arrival, the fire was contained and extinguished with no injuries reported. All units cleared the scene.

 

6:37 am 700 blk S 6th Av HFD was dispatched to the report of an activated CO alarm. 1:31pm 200 blk E Honeywell Av HFD was dispatched to the report of an illegal burn/trash fire.

Cited: Charles Huddleston (M) (72) of Hoopeston

Details: HPD Officers responded to a call in the above location, where they located Mr. Huddleston and issued him a city citation for the above ordinance violation. Mr. Huddleston was released from the scene on an NTA in Hoopeston City Court.

 

Wanted on a Ford Co. Warrant H26-4977

Location: McFerren Park

Arrested: Shane McCarty (M) (40) of Rankin

Details: While on patrol in the above area, HPD Officers observed the above subject, who they knew to have an active Warrant out of Ford Co. Officers made contact with Mr. McCarty and placed him under arrest after receiving confirmation that the warrant was valid. Mr. McCarty was processed at the Hoopeston Police Department then later transported to the Ford Co. Sherriff’s office.
