On September 11, 2026, Darron Brandy, Jr. (DOB 4/18/1992), formerly of Danville, Illinois, 
pleaded guilty to the charge of Residential Burglary, a class 1 felony, and was sentenced to 5 
years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Following his term of imprisonment, the 
defendant will serve 12 months of mandatory supervised release. The plea and sentencing were 
presided over by Judge Mark S. Goodwin.
The People presented evidence that on May 29, 2026, Danville Police Department was 
dispatched to a reported residential burglary on Cleveland Street in Danville. Officers made 
contact with the victim who stated she had seen the suspect run out of her residence. The victim 
told police the door was left open and the door knob had been broken off. The victim’s 
engagement ring, valued at $2,000, and other rings, were missing from the residence. Police later 
located Darron Brandy, who had the rings in his pocket. The stolen jewelry was returned to the 
victim.
Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy said, "This conviction holds the defendant 
accountable for committing a residential burglary, a crime that undermines the safety and 
security of our citizens. I would like to thank the Danville Police Department for quickly 
apprehending this defendant and recovering the victim's stolen property.”
