One man was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead in Danville Saturday afternoon.

The Danville Police Department responded to the area of Memorial Bridge at 25 S. Gilbert Street at approximately 5:15 p.m. after a report of an unresponsive individual at the bottom of the bridge.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying near the riverbank. The Vermilion County Coroner later identified the man as 24-year-old Trevor Karuzis of Catlin. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Danville Police Department, the preliminary investigation has revealed no signs of foul play. However, the investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is scheduled for this week.
