On September 16, 2026, Hildrus Hancock (DOB: 6/9/1958), formerly of Danville, Illinois, 
pleaded guilty to Methamphetamine Possession, a class 3 felony, for an extended term sentence 
of 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, and to Domestic Battery, a class 4 felony, for 
a conviction. Following his term of imprisonment, the defendant will serve 6 months of 
mandatory supervised release. The plea and sentencing were presided over by Judge Karen E. 
Wall.
The People presented evidence that on April 1, 2026, officers with the Danville Police 
Department responded to May Street in Danville, after receiving a report that Hildrus Hancock 
had struck a male household member. Officers interviewed two witnesses who confirmed the 
defendant had struck the victim. The defendant fled the residence before officers arrived, but was 
located nearby a short time later. The defendant denied striking the victim. During a search 
incident to arrest, officers recovered 1.5 mg of a substance on the defendant’s person, which field 
tested positive for methamphetamine. The substance was sent to the Illinois State Police Crime 
Laboratory and results returned positive for methamphetamine.
