Barbara Fay Silver, 65, of Fruitland Park, FL, formerly of Rossville, IL, passed away on May 7, 2026. Barb was born on August 22, 1960, to Robert Bretz Sr. and Marjorie Bretz.

Barb married the love of her life, Mark Silver, on March 25, 1978. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two wonderful sons, Joshua Silver and Jared (Kelli) Silver.

Barb lived life to the fullest and was always planning her next adventure. She often joked that she was spending all of her money on experiences and having fun while she could — and that she did. She loved making memories with the people she cared about most and brought joy everywhere she went.

In February of 2015, she was given her most special gift, her first great-grandson, Landry Hines. She spent countless hours with him and taking him on the most amazing adventures. Just when you thought she had no more love to give, along came four more: Ira, Kenlee, Charlie, and Ella. Her heart was overfilled with love for them.

Barb is survived by her siblings: Marjorie Sarajew (John) of Watseka, Robert Bretz Jr. (Corrine) of Champaign, Sharon Bretz of Urbana, Brian Bretz (Cheryl) of Covington, Patricia Awayda of Urbana, and several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bretz Sr. and Marjorie Bretz, and her in-laws, Jack and Mona Silver.

Barb also leaves behind many lifelong friends and coworkers who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.

Kaylan, Collin, and Lake want to thank Barb for always treating them like her own and always being there for them.

The family sends all of their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support. Services will be held at a later date.
