Frances I. Remole, 95, of Potomac

Frances I. Remole, 95, of Potomac, passed away at 7:54 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, in Danville.

Fran was born on September 2, 1925, in Rankin, the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Judy) Auth. She married Delbert Remole on September 14, 1947, in Potomac. He survives.

She is also survived by her four children- Steve (Susan) Remole of Oakwood, Connie (Don) Rutledge of Danville, Chris (Randy) Hird of Danville and Stan (Mary) Remole of Potomac; eleven grandchildren- Laura (Rob) Ruch, Ryan (Elaine) Remole, Scott (Brittney) Remole, Jill (Matt) Smith, Joy (Jason) Anderson, Jeff (Hanna) Alexander, Aaron (Amy) Hird, Brandon (Jill) Hird, Denton (Mariah) Hird, Steven (Kerry) Remole and Michael (Gabby) Remole; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers- Gene and Maurice Auth, sister- JoAnne Boyd and one infant brother.

Fran graduated from Potomac High School. She worked with Delbert for years as a partner in all of his business ventures. She was a member of the Potomac Church of the Nazarene, where she served on the church board, District Missionary Council and Sunday School teacher for 50 years. She was also a member of the Potomac Women's Club and a past 4-H Leader. Fran enjoyed sewing, fishing, volunteering at the school and loved entertaining friends and family. She also loved watching her grandchildren play sports. Fran loved spending time with people and always had a smile on her face.

A Celebration of Frances' Life will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021, at the Potomac Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Jeff Alexander and Pastor Randy Holden officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, at the church. Burial will follow the services in the Potomac Cemetery. Due to current Covid-19 health concerns masks and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Potomac Church of the Nazarene or Hooves of Hope. Dorothy Darding, 93, of Rossville

Dorothy Louise Darding, 93, passed away at 5:46 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at her home.

Dorothy was born on September 27, 1927, in Fairmount, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph and Marie (Rice) Reeder. She married George Darding on April 30, 1947, in Rossville. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1988. She later married William Sherman in 2004, in Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2007.

She is survived by one daughter- Christol Stevens of Rossville; two sons- Bill (Elaine) Darding of Kewanee, Illinois and Jack Darding of Birmingham, Alabama; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one half-brother- Don (Marth) Scaff of Quincy, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, daughter- Bonnie Brennen and two sisters- Helen Holder and Ellen Recore.

Dorothy worked at TeePak as a machine operator, in Danville for 25 years, until her retirement. She was a member of Morningstar Ministries and Rossville Historical Society. Dorothy enjoyed making crafts, quilting, ceramics, puzzles, gardening, and fishing.

A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Pastor Dan Mikel and Bill Darding officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Rossville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Morningstar Ministries. Stephen Douglas "Steve" Goss, 73, of Danville, IL, formerly of Hoopeston

Stephen Douglas “Steve” Goss, 73, of Danville, IL, formerly of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 8:38 P.M. Friday January 22, 2021 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.  He was born September 25, 1947, in Evansville, IN, the son of James and Amy (Schnee) Goss.   

He is survived by three sisters, Elaine (Michael) Thorne of Kirkwood, MO, Carolyn (Randy) LaBounty of Watseka, IL, and Jane Totheroh of Danville, IL and 6 nieces and nephews, Jennifer Thorne, Gregory Thorne, Julie Barwegen, Andrew LaBounty, Aaron Totheroh, and Jessica Maro. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Paul “Bill” Goss. 

Steve worked as a union pipefitter. He served four years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Antarctica and Guam.  He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Hoopeston and was also a member of the Hoopeston American Legion Post #384 where he served as Commander during the 1970’s.  Steve enjoyed history, politics, and listening to audio books. 

A private graveside service will be held at Floral Hill Cemetery with military rites being accorded by the Hoopeston American Legion Post #384.

Marvin Clyden, 89, of Sheldon

Marvin Clyden, 89, of Sheldon, IL passed away on Sunday, 01/24/2021 at Miller Center in Kankakee.

 

Graveside Services will be held at the Sheldon Cemetery on Saturday, Feb. 6th, 2021 at 10:00am.

Alta Mae Herron, 71, of Potomac

Alta Mae Herron, 71, of Potomac, passed away at 9:23 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Le Conte Medical Center, in Sevierville, Tennessee.

 

Mae was born on May 13, 1949, in Danville, the daughter of Emory Payton and Carrie Bell (Cruse) Rumble. She married Roy Lee Herron on September 24, 1965, at the Potomac Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2005.

 

She is survived by four daughters- Debra (Rob) Acree-Richardson of Rantoul, Denise (Jim) Hunt of Potomac, Kim (Dan) Hunt of Potomac and Karri Herron of Indiana; fourteen grandchildren- Jonathon (Hope) Bishop, Ashley (Harry) Mills, William “Daniel” Acree, Danielle (Mat) Dishman, Joshua (Davida) Hunt, Whitney (Micah) Cleveland, Alyssa Hunt, Seth Pratt, Christian Hunt, Madisyn (Brynden) Deck, Serenity Hunt, Logan Hunt and Dakotah McCoy; seven great-grandchildren and two more on the way; sister- Lois (Lewis) Dickison of Alvin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law-Bill Acree and several half-brothers and sisters.

 

Mae was a member of the Alvin Church of God, where she was a youth leader at the church and loved spending time with her church family. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, going on cruises with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Mae loved spending time with her family and friends. She was so full of life and she always had a smile on her face anywhere she went.

 

A Celebration of Mae’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021, at the Alvin Church of God, with Pastor Dan Hunt and Pastor David Routien officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the church. Burial will follow the service in Gundy Cemetery, in Bismarck. Memorials may be made to the Alvin Church of God. Patricia Joanne York, 85, of Hoopeston

Patricia Joanne York, 85, of Hoopeston, passed away at 12:34 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton.

Patricia was born on May 20, 1935, in Danville, the daughter of Clyde and Lera (Vigus) Keith. She married Shirley Dale York on September 6, 1953, in Hoopeston. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2018.

She is survived by three sons- John Dale (Olga) York of Hoopeston, Don (Michelle) York of Hoopeston and Steve (Jennifer) York of Grant Park; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers- Tom and Marion Keith, sister- Marilyn Trautwetter and infant twin brother- Charles Keith.

Patricia graduated from John Greer High School, in 1953. She worked for several yeas as a realtor, working for Terry Reality and Birds Reality, in Hoopeston. She also enjoyed volunteering at the school, where she was a reading volunteer for 16 years. She loved to help teach children how to read. Patricia also enjoyed listening to classical music, making Christmas cookies with the family, baking, and spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Patricia’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Pastor Ken Cameron officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Floral Hill Cemetery. Elaine Pearl Leemon, 91, of Hoopeston

Elaine Pearl Leemon, 91, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 12:24 P.M. Wednesday January 20, 2021 at her home at Autumn Fields Adult Community in Hoopeston.  She was born November 8, 1929, in Chicago Heights, IL, the daughter of Cheville and Ruby (Rowe) Elliott.  She married Charles B. “Chuck” Leemon on August 19, 1948 in Hoopeston.  He preceded her in death on August 1, 2009. 

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Louise Barten of Hoopeston, IL, Peggy (Gary) Winzenburger of Washington, MO, and Linda Payne of Tarpon Springs, FL; one son, Charles E. (Dixie) Leemon of Hoopeston, IL; one daughter-in-law, Janet Leemon (Rodney) Woolley of Rensselaer, IN; one brother, Edward Cheville Elliott of Pinckney, MI; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Sanders and Eileen Leemon both of Hoopeston, IL; 9 grandchildren, John (Karen) Barten, Jeff (Cathy) Barten, Laura Leemon, Adam (Sarah) Winzenburger, Steve (Katie) Winzenburger, Matt Payne, Cody (Jessica) Leemon, Wes (Dani) Leemon, and Clint (Desirae) Leemon; 5 great-grandchildren, Hayes Scott Leemon, Scarlett Leemon, Noah Barten, Isabella Leemon, and Sophie Leemon and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband, Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Leemon; son-in-law, Kevin Payne; grandson, Bruce Leemon; sister-in-law, Dorothy Elliott; brother-in-law, Bill Leemon; and nephew, Robin Elliott. 

Elaine was a homemaker, caring for her family and helped her husband on the family farm.  She was a member of the Hoopeston United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities including past president of United Methodist Women.  Her greatest enjoyment was visiting with family and friends.  

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday January 26, 2021 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, with Pastor Jemiriye Fakunle and Steve Unger officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.

Sandra Hamende, 60, of Watseka, IL passed away on Wed. January 20th, 2021 in Terre Haute, IN. 

 

A visitation is set for 10am-2pm on Monday, 1/25/2021 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka with the funeral service to follow at 2pm, also at the funeral home. 

 

Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.

Tina Marie Dove, 56, of Wellington

Tina Marie Dove, 56, of Wellington, IL passed away at 1:57 P.M. at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born June 17, 1964 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Oscar and Anita (Johnson) Bond.

Tina married James Dove on September 26, 1986. He survives her.

Tina Dove is also survived by her mother, Anita Bond; son, Robert Dove & his significant other Alison Torres of Avon, IN; daughters, Laura and Dani Lane of Hoopeston, IL, and Jill and Brandon Hudson of Danville, IL ; brother, Wayne and Joyce Bond of Lockport, IL; sister, Donna Bond of Mokena, IL; grandchildren, Emmett, Tucker, Knox, Hayden, Adaline, Grant, Jed, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by her father, Oscar; and her brother, Robert Bond. Tina was a stay-at-home mom. She was a great mom, wife, and grandma. Her grandchildren brought her so much joy. She was a genuine person who always had a smile on her face and was always thinking about others. Tina was a huge White Sox fan. She enjoyed playing softball and loved drinking coffee every morning. She is arguably the best sandwich maker.

Memorials in Tina Dove’s name can be made to the family.

Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

 

Arlene Miller, 91, of Hoopeston

M. Arlene Miller, 91, of Hoopeston, passed away at 10:11 p.m. Tuesday,
January 19, 2021, at Carle Hoopeston Regional Medical Center.
Arlene was born on January 15, 1930, in rural East Lynn, to Richard and Rae
(Rusk) Hatfield. She graduated from East Lynn High School. On November
13, 1965 she married Lowell Miller, at First Presbyterian Church, in
Hoopeston. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2010.
Her parents, five brothers- Harlan, Ronald, Robert, Earl and Jim, and an
infant sister- Mary Elizabeth preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters- Jean Eighner and Margaret Sims, both of
Hoopeston and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hoopeston, joining on
March 30, 1958. She served her church as elder, deacon, paying treasurer
and receiving treasurer. For 33 years, she was a bookkeeper and office
manager for local contractors.
Arlene was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a charter member of
the Hoopeston Hospital Auxiliary and served as its first treasurer. She also
served as Hoopeston City Treasurer for 18 years. She was active in the local
chapters of the American Cancer Society and the United Way, as well as a
member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Hoopeston Historical
Society. She and her husband delivered SAMS meals for many years.
A virtual funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30th
,
2021, on the Hoopeston First Presbyterian Church website. Because of the
COVID pandemic, no visitation, public services, or graveside activities will
take place at this time. A celebration of life gathering will take place at a later
date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoopeston First Presbyterian
Church (915 E. Orange St.), Hoopeston Public Library (110 N. Fourth St.),
Hoopeston American Legion Post #384 (502 E. Penn St.), or an organization of
the donor’s choice.

Sandra Wyss, 79, of Cissna Park

Sandra R. Wyss, 79, of Cissna Park passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on October 8, 1941 in Watseka, the daughter of Thomas and Pearl (Baker) Rothery.

 

She married Andrew Burtzos on March 14, 1962 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1969. She later married Gerald R. Wyss on September 12, 1974 in Cissna Park, and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

 

Sandra is survived by two sons, Foti (Belinda) Burtzos of Valley Center, CA and Tom (Christina) Burtzos of Bloomington; one daughter, Demmie Williams of Champaign; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bruce (Patty) Rothery of Danville.

 

Mrs. Wyss was a member of the Cissna Park United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women’s and Jr Women’s Club. She enjoyed her travels through Greece, where she learned Greek cooking. Her hobbies included her bowling leagues, euchre card club, and her garage sale group. She was an avid shopper and collector. But most of all, her trips to California visiting family and attending her grandkids sporting events was her greatest love of life.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Cissna Park United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Cissna Park Cemetery.

Kay T. Norder, 74, of Watseka

Kay T. Norder, 74, of Watseka passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at her home. She was born on March 13, 1946 in Watseka and was raised by Walter and Vera Howe.

 

She married Pat Trumble and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

 

Kay later married Norman Norder on July 3, 2004 and he survives. She is also survived by two sons, Rocky Trumble of Birdseye, IN and Charles Trumble of Boise, ID; three stepsons, Charles, Jason, and Andy Norder; one stepdaughter, Collette Norder; fifteen grandchildren; seven grerat-grandchildren; one sister, Marcia Elliott of Marion; one brother and sister-in-law, who was more like a sister to her, David and Ginger Howe of Sheldon; and a special friend, Sienna Pettigrew of Martinton.

 

Mrs. Norder loved working in the flower garden, cooking, and shopping. She attended Centennial Christian Church and Darrow Church of Christ.

 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Charles M. Pajor, 82, of Hoopeston

Charles “Chuck” M. Pajor, 82, of Hoopeston, passed away peacefully at 11:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Heritage Health in Hoopeston.

 

Chuck was born on February 4, 1938 in Harvey, Illinois, the son of Michael and Mary (Bielicki) Pajor. He married Dorothy Ziemba on March 1, 1958 in Harvey, Illinois, she survives.

 

He is also survived by one daughter- Sue (Douglas M.) Roark of West Lafayette, Indiana; one son- Phil (Paula Reeves) Pajor of Lafayette, Indiana; nine grandchildren- Jimmy (Mary) Pajor, Chuck (Erica) Pajor, Jennifer (Jeff) Kokinda, Alane (Jessie Blankenship) Pajor, Katie (Dustin) Ehle, Adam Pajor, Alex Pajor, Kaitlin (Brandon) Tyler and Morgan (Michael) Woods; twelve great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law- Lori Pajor of Hoopeston; aunt- Helen Bielicki of Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and his four-legged children- Schotzie, Duncan and Simba.

 

He was preceded in death by his son- Jim Pajor, his brother- Edward Pajor, his three sisters- Mary Ann Ripplinger, JoAnn Turngren, Dolores Brasel, and his parents.

 

Chuck graduated from Thornton Township High School in 1955. His parents started M.A. Pajor and Sons Hardware in 1934 in Harvey. In 1975, Chuck and his brother-in-law, Hal, moved the hardware store to Hoopeston, changing the name to Olympic Hardware, which has now passed on to the 4th generation of Pajors. He retired from the hardware store in 2012, after the passing of his son, Jim. Chuck was a member of the Optimist Club in Harvey and served as a Harvey Park Commissioner. He was also a 40+ year dedicated member of the Hoopeston Lions Club and very involved in the Hoopeston community. He helped install the kitchen at the Hoopeston Multi Agency and was awarded Citizen of the Year in 1990. He enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding, collecting die cast cars, snowmobiling, and anything train related. Chuck’s favorite place to camp was Copper Harbor, Michigan, where he could be found relaxing next to a roaring campfire while sipping on his favorite drink, Southern Comfort Manhattan.

 

A Celebration of Life Reception will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Blurton Funeral Home in Hoopeston. Due to current health conditions, masks and social distancing will be required.

 

According to his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the Hoopeston Lions Club or the Hoopeston Animal Shelter.

David A. Perzee, 80, of Gilman

David A. Perzee, 80, of Gilman passed away on January 9, 2021 at Advent Health Sebring in Sebring, FL. He was born on September 29, 1940 in Gilman, the son of Ralph and Bernice (Saxsma) Perzee. He married Marilyn F. Juergens at Cabery United Methodist Church on April 10, 1965.

 

Surviving are his wife of nearly 56 years, Marilyn (Juergens) Perzee of Gilman; two daughters, Michele (Luis) Torres of Westmont, IL and Marcia (Steven) Davage of Hamilton, MI; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Daniel Davage and Andrea and Matthew Torres; three sisters, Norma (Ronald) Koerner of Chatsworth, Linda (Roger) Zehr of Flanagan, and Effie (Paul) Moore of Bourbonnais.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother in law, Herman and Gussie (Zeedyk) Juergens; three brothers, Leroy, Gerald, and Peter; two brothers in law, George Juergens and Donald Juergens; and four sisters in law, Patti Perzee, Brenda Perzee, Marilyn Juergens, and Nancy Juergens.

 

Mr. Perzee served three years in the United States Army with the Army Security Agency. He was a longtime member of the Danforth American Legion Post #367 and served as commander for 25 years. David was a lifelong member of Danforth Reformed Church in Danforth, where he served as Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, organized and helped with the start of DRC Vacation Bible School and he and his wife prepared senior dinners for many years at the Church.

 

David worked at The Gilman Star in Gilman during high school and before going into the military. He retired from Uarco/Standard Register Watseka after 36 years.

 

Dave enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s school events. He was their biggest cheerleader and a wonderful role model who was always encouraging. He looked forward to his coffee times with his many friends in Illinois and Florida. He and Marilyn loved to travel and did many trips including The Netherlands to find out where their families began. He made friends everywhere he went, took care of many, and was always available if needed. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend, and neighbor. He will be missed deeply.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Lulua Drollinger, 89, of Kankakee

Lulua M. Drollinger, 89, of Kankakee passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was born on May 15, 1931 in Rankin, the daughter of Arthur and Lucille (Norris) Christiansen. She married Carl E. Drollinger on June 3, 1951 in Rankin, and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.

 

She is survived by one son, David Drollinger of Kankakee.

Barry Bell, 70, of Cissna Park

Barry Alan Bell, 70, of Cissna Park passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. He was born on May 22, 1950 in Watseka, the son of Donald and Laverne (Lober) Bell.

 

He is survived by two daughters, Angi (JD) Jennings of Cissna Park and Jennifer Boyle and fiancé Ben Tipdord of Cissna Park; one son, James (Janelle) Bell of Hoopeston; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Sherry Shields of Cissna Park, Karen (Dan) Rodgers of Navarre, FL, and Jackie (Dan) Bauer of Cissna Park.

 

Cremation rites will be accorded by Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mary A. Pheifer, 90, of Gilman

Mary A. Pheifer, 90, of Gilman passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was born on June 4, 1930 in Chicago, the daughter of John Henry and Edna (Bethel) Phelps.

 

She married George L. Pheifer Jr. on August 24, 1947 in Oak Lawn, and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1966. She was also preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; four sisters; and one son, George Pheifer III.

 

Mary is survived by two sons, Terry (Jo) Pheifer of Crescent City and Dennis Pheifer of Gilman; three daughters, Linda (Mark) DiBello of Stelle, Barbara Hendron of Clifton, and Sandra (John) Barnes of Gilman; daughter-in-law, Crestita Pheifer of Gilman; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Pheifer attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilman. She was a former restaurant business owner in Gilman, an avid fisherman, enjoyed crafting, and loved cooking for her family. Mary was an accomplished bingo player.

 

Private visitation and funeral services will be held at Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Gilman. Mary’s grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers.

Clarence White, 77, of Rossville

Clarence W. White, 77, of Rossville, IL, passed away at 2:58 P.M. Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.  He was born May 24, 1943, in Whitewood, KY, the son of James Alfred and Gladys Mae (Nunn) White.  He married Chris Pearson on May 18, 2012 at the Vermilion County Courthouse in Danville.  She survives in Rossville. 

He is also survived by two daughters, Debra (Brent) Rainwater of rural Rossville, IL and Heather Bailey (Shane Strubberg) of Bismarck, IL; two sisters, Judy Blakeman of Greensburg, KY and Marilyn Morgan; one brother, Porter White of Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren, Candy (Abraham) Vargas, Brandi (Allen) Drennan, Dalton Rainwater, Kaydence, Carter, Kinzley, Kambrey, and Kaizley Bailey, and Tristan Strubberg; four great-grandchildren, Bishop Drennan and Makayla, Hannah, and Jackson Vargas; his father-in-law, Bill (Rita) Pearson; one sister-in-law, Cindy (Jeff) Sloan; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gordon, Kenneth “Chunk”, Danny, and Carlos White; and three sisters, Brenda Thomas, Rose Morgan, and Ida Lois White. 

Clarence worked at General Motors doing many different jobs until his retirement.  He enjoyed antique tractors and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mary Lou Allen, 80, of Hoopeston

Mary Lou Allen, 80, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 11:26 A.M. Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.  She was born February 3, 1940 in Tahoka, TX the daughter of Leslie and Stella (Adams) McKee.  She married Russell Drew Allen in Tahoka, TX in 1961 and together they had two sons who survive, Roger (Vaughna) Allen of Hoopeston, IL and Rusty (Ellen) Allen of Lebanon, OH. 

She is also survived by one sister, Margaret (Ike) Carter of McKinney, TX; 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Audrey) Allen, Tyler Allen, Natasha (Bryan) Mandel, Brenna (Kevin) Pantig, and Gabriel (Amya) Allen, and Aubrey and Charis Allen; 3 great-grandchildren, Jade Pantig, Kinsey Allen, and Adeline Allen; 12 nieces and nephews, Chris Carter, Lisa Carter, Chad Allen, Gordon Allen, Danny Allen, Amy McNeill, Duane Allen, Geoffrey Porter, Aleta McGee, David Porter, Jennifer Duiven, and Jared Locke. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Audrey and Eudelle McKee. 

Mary Lou worked at the John Deere Foundry.  She then worked for Grant Ross Credit Union for several years and then became a substitute teacher for Cissna Park and Hoopeston schools.  She later worked as a bookkeeper for Raven’s.  Mary Lou was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hoopeston where she was the organist and played for many local weddings and funerals.  She enjoyed cooking, playing card games with family and friends, and spending time with her family. 

A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Tuesday January 19, 2021 at the First Baptist Church 323 E. Seminary Ave. Hoopeston, IL.  The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church.  Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.

Pamela K. Fink, 70, of Onarga

Pamela K. Fink, 70, of Onarga passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana of a sudden illness. She was born on November 3, 1950 in Watseka, the daughter of Melvin and Shirley (Schmitt) Lavoie and they preceded her in death.

 

She married David G. Fink in Crescent City on October 25, 1969 and he survives. She is also survived by two sons, David M. (Lisa) Fink of Philo and Chad (Jennifer) Fink of Melissa, TX; four grandchildren, Kelsey and Kaitlyn Fink of Philo and Mason and Lauren Fink of Melissa, TX; two great-grandchildren, Brantly and McKenna; and five sisters, Barbara (Kenton) Munsterman of Bourbonnais, Jean (Ty) Herron of Crescent City, Mary (Scott) Quinn of Bloomington, Michel Lavoie of Austin, TX, and Angie (Aaron) Taylor of Donovan.

 

Mrs. Fink was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crescent City, where she was a member of the church council and current President of the CCW, and was two-time Woman of the Year, Eucharist Minister, Catechism Minister, and taught first Communion. She was also a member of the Onarga Historical Society, Princess Onarga Questers, and was the Donovan, Buckley, and Onarga Postmaster for many years. Pam loved spending time with her grandchildren and children, never missing any events that they were involved in. She also enjoyed flower gardens, helping people, traveling with family, and was a wine enthusiast.

 

Private visitation and funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crescent City with Fr. Michael Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Onarga Cemetery in Onarga. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crescent City as per family wishes.

Theodore Gene Huls, the 9-month-old infant son of Lane and Theresa (Samet) Huls of Hoopeston

Theodore Gene Huls, the 9-month-old infant son of Lane and Theresa (Samet) Huls of Hoopeston, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by lots of love at 2:52 P.M. Monday January 11, 2021 at his home.  He was born April 3, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.   

He is survived by two brothers, Oliver and Emerson Huls of Hoopeston, IL; maternal grandparents, Dan and Dawn Samet of Rankin, IL and paternal grandmother, Melissa Judy of Rantoul, IL; great-grandparents, Ralph and Sandy Samet, Gary Judy, and Brenda Gaither and several aunts and uncles. 

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Melva Judy.  

A public visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday January 14, 2021 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.  Please be considerate of others as only ten people will be allowed inside the funeral home at a time and we kindly ask that face coverings be worn, and social distancing is maintained by those who attend the visitation.  A private funeral service will be held and burial will be held at Wallace Chapel Cemetery in rural Potomac, IL.

John P. Lithgow, 86, of Hoopeston

John P. Lithgow, 86, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 5:27 P.M. Friday January 8, 2021 at Accolade Health Care of Paxton.  He was born July 22, 1934, in rural Hoopeston, the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Mallory) Lithgow.  He married Betty Hodel on October 15, 1955.  She survives. 

He is also survived by four sons, Dennis (Becky) Lithgow of Harrison, AR, Dale (Penny) Lithgow of Hoopeston, IL, Doug (Becky) Lithgow of Huntington, IN and Darrel (Kay) Lithgow of New Palestine, IN; one sister-in-law, Donna Lithgow of Paxton, IL; 8 grandchildren, Phil (Lisa) Lithgow, Ashley (Kris) Dukes, Matthew (Dawn) Lithgow, Alesha Berzenye, Adam (Hannah) Lithgow, Alex Lithgow, Nathan Lithgow, and Brent Lithgow; 5 great-grandchildren, James, Harrison, Jasper, Piper, and Chandler; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Stanley and Gene. 

John was a certified steam boiler serviceman.  He then worked at FMC in Hoopeston as a certified engineer working on food processing equipment and later helped his son, Dale, at his business, Lithgow Automotive.  He served in the United States Army.  He was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and was also a member of the Rossville FFA.  John enjoyed tinkering around his house and caring for his beloved dog, Scooby.

Delmar Dean Langellier, 83, of Hoopeston

Delmar Dean Langellier, 83, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 11:30 P.M. Wednesday January 6, 2021 at his home.  He was born July 16, 1937, in Ambia, IN, the son of Raymond Langellier and Wilma Inza (Hicks) Langellier. 

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Langellier of Hoopeston, IL; one son, Kenneth Wayne Langellier of Cave City, KY; four sisters, Barbara (Steve) Blackwell, Donna Caspers, Gloria Henthorn, and Carolyn Sue Langellier; three brothers, Ray, Ronald, and Gordon Langellier; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Andrew Langellier and Phoebe Nicole (Christopher) Crews; and one great-grandchild, Alita Hope Langellier. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty; and four brothers, Louis, Morris, Lloyd, and Gerald. 

Delmar was a farmer for over fifty years.  He served in the Illinois National Guard and attended Prairie Green Church of Christ.  He enjoyed driving through the countryside, going out to eat with his family and friends, attending farm sales, and drinking coffee with his farm friends. 

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a service will be held at a later date.
