Unit 1: 2016 TAO TAO Motorcycle driven by Zachary D Carter (16) (M) of Hoopeston.
Passenger: 14 year old Male of Hoopeston
Details: Unit 1 was traveling north bound on N 6th Avenue when a groundhog about the area of W Honeywell Avenue ran out into the street in front of a car. That unit slammed on its breaks to avoid the animal, Unit 1 grounded the bike to avoid hitting the unit that had stopped in street. Driver and Passenger both sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital by family members for treatment. Both Subjects were released afterwards.
No tickets, Unit 1 was insured.

Details: Hoopeston ED contacted HPD in reference to subject needing a ride to
Watseka. Officers made contact with subject and a computer check revealed
that she had an outstanding Iroquois County Warrant. Subject was arrested
and taken to HPD to be processed. Subject signed an extradition waiver and
an Iroquois County Deputy picked subject up and transported her to the
Iroquois County Jail.

Jennifer Jones (30) Hoopeston female
Details: HPD officers were called to the above location in reference to a domestic
dispute. Upon investigation both subjects were arrested for domestic
battery against each other. They were taken to HPD, processed and later
transported to the PSB in Danville to await arraignment.

County Treasurer, Mindy Kuntz Hagan, announced that the deadline to pay the first installment of the 2016 payable in 2017 Iroquois County real estate taxes without penalty is Wednesday, June 21, 2017. After that date, 1 ½ percent penalty on all property must be added to the first installment each month it remains unpaid according to the Illinois State Statutes.
The Treasurer’s Office is open 8:30 – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. To avoid waiting in line, you may also pay by mail, or at any bank in Iroquois County including Iroquois Federal, Commonwealth Credit Union and First State Bank of Forrest in Onarga. If you pay in person, please bring the entire bill if you want a receipt. If you mail your payment and wish to have a receipt, you must enclose the entire bill plus a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Unit #2: 2002 E-Z-Go Golf cart driven by Heather Lane of Hoopeston
Details: Unit #2 was stopped at the stop sign, when Unit #1 approached the
intersection, stopped and then immediately entered the intersection
at the same time Unit #2 did. Unit #1 advised HPD officers that he was
unable to see Unit #2 due to the bright sunlight. Witnesses advised
that Unit #2 was stopped at the 4-way first and had the right of way. No
injuries were reported, no citations were issued and both parties were
insured.

ASHKUM, IL- Illinois State Police (ISP) District 21 is reporting the arrest of David D. Smith, 52, of Markham; Chad Pommier, 29, of Bourbonnais, and Adam Wilhelmi, 27, of Saybrook, IL for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
On June 11, 2017 at approximately 12:14 A.M., an Illinois State Trooper on patrol in Iroquois County. The trooper observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate on speed on I-57 southbound at milepost 284. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, David Smith. Smith showed signs of alcohol impairment and was placed under arrest and transported to the Iroquois County jail for processing. Smith was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs and issued a citation for speeding.
On June 11, 2017 at approximately 1:06 A.M., the Illinois State Police were conducting a roadside safety check on Route 17 at I-57 in Kankakee. A vehicle entered the check point and a trooper spoke with the driver, Chad Pommier. Pommier showed signs of alcohol impairment and was placed under arrest. Pommier was transported to the Kankakee County Jail for processing. Pommier was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
On June 11, 2017 at approximately 10:42 P.M., an Illinois State Trooper was dispatched to a to a single vehicle crash on Route 9 at 100 E in Ford County. Before the trooper arrived on scene, the driver of the vehicle was transported to Gibson City Hospital with minor injuries. The trooper arrived at the hospital and spoke with the driver, Adam Wilhelmi. Wilhelmi showed signs of alcohol impairment. After being cleared from the Hospital, Wilhelmi was placed under arrest and transported to the Ford County Jail for processing. Wilhelmi was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and improper lane usage.

Details: Officers came across Unit 2 which was partially in middle of
the street. Upon investigation it was determined Unit 2 was
struck by another vehicle which left the scene. Oil leaking
from Unit 1 lead officers to the offending vehicle. Menschel
received citations for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident, and Leaving The Scene of an accident.
