Hoopeston Police Department Report November 22-29

Methamphetamine Possession, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia H17-4939  V17-11092
Time: 12:40am
Location: 900 blk W Main St
Arrested: Joshua Kempen (28) Hoopeston male
Details: HPD officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle that Mr. Kempen was
driving.  Upon investigation, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was
found in the vehicle.  He was arrested and taken to HPD.  He was processed and later transported to the PSB to await arraignment.
 
Methamphetamine Possession, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia H17-4941  V17-11103
Time: 01:54 AM 
Location: 500 blk E Wyman Avenue 
Arrested: Simonton, Jason K (39) (M) of Hoopeston 
Details: Hoopeston Police responded to a male subject who was threatening to harm himself.  While dealing with the subject, he was found and charged with the above offenses.  Subject was transported to Carle Hoopeston and treated and released.  He was transported to PSB Danville to await for a hearing before a judge.  
 
 
 
Credit/Debit Card was found at Caseys on Orange Street. If you are missing one, it
can be identified and claimed with proper ID at HPD

Arrested: Ramiro R. Lopez (32) of Hoopeston
Details: Warrant was served on subject at HPD. He was processed and
released after posting bond.

Unit #2: Mailbox owned by Flo Gooden
Traffic sign owned by Illinois Department of Transportation
Mailbox owned by Jamie Wetli
Details: While travelling eastbound on Orange St, Unit #1 left the roadway and struck
2 mailboxes and a traffic sign.  No injuries were reported.
 
Traffic Accident H17-4996

Location: 8th ave & Young Street
Unit #1: 2014 ford fusion driven by Andrea Lutz (20) of Oakwood
Unit #2: 2011 Ford Flex driven by Destini Flint (23) of Hoopeston
Details: Unit 1 was traveling northbound on 8th avenue, turned west onto
Young street and collided with Unit 2 which was traveling westbound
on Young street.  No injuries or citation issued.  Both units drove
away from scene of accident

Details:                  3 separate burglaries to churches and a trailer were solved.  Suspect was    
                               questioned and all cases were closed with an arrest.
 
 
Possession of Methamphetamines H17-5021
Date & Time: November 26, 2017    6:38pm
Location: 301 W Main Hoopeston Police Department
Arrested: Matthew R Langenfeld (20) of Hoopeston
Details: While in custody for another arrest, Charges were added
after a search located a baggie testing positive for
methamphatine.  He was later transported to PSB on
all charges.
 
Stolen Vehicle H17-5044
Date & Time: November 27, 2017 4:14 pm
Location: 500 blk N. Seventh Ave.
Complainant: 42 year old Hoopeston male
Details: Officers responded to the above in reference to the complainant advising his 1999 Ford F-250 had been stolen sometime in the last 14 hours.
 
 
Keys were found on 400 blk of E Seminary, and turned into HPD where owner may claim
 
Burglary; Theft of $500 H17-5049   H17-5050   V17-11285

Location: 600 block of N Market
Arrested: Bryce McDaniel (18) Georgetown male
Julian Aguirre (19) Danville male
Reece Garrison (19) Henning male
Details: HPD responded to the above location in reference to two separate burglaries and the report of a stolen vehicle. The above subjects were located at a different location and the vehicle was recovered by an Indiana police department. The above subjects were taken to HPD where they were charged, processed and later transported to the PSB to await arraignment.

Details: HPD responded to the above when the complainant notice damage done to her home. An investigation continues.

Complainant: (17) year old Hoopeston male
Details: Complainant contacted HPD and advised unknown person(s) had entered his vehicle without his knowledge or permission and removed items. An investigation continues. 
 
Noisy Animal Prohibited (city ordinance) H17-5081

Location:    400 blk E Honeywell
Complainant:  63 year old Hoopeston male
Arrested:    Samantha Simpson (37) Hoopeston female
Details:    HPD officers responded to the above location for an ongoing problem with
   dogs barking.  Complainant was willing to sign city charges for Noisy Animals
   Prohibited.  Ms. Simpson was not at home at the time of complaint and was
   mailed her citation and court date.

Details:    Complainant contacted HPD in reference to unknown subject(s) damaged

Found Glasses
A pair of ladies glasses were found at the Lorraine Theatre on Saturday, November 11th
after the show.  The owner can identify and claim at HPD.

Details:     Business contacted Hoopeston Police reference to a counterfeit $100 bill being passed at the store.    HPD Responded and took possession of the bill.  Investigation continues.

Ybarra was charged with the above, taken to HPD were he was processed and later released with a notice to appear.

Details: Unit 1 struck Unit 2 while it was parked in the 500 blk S. 4th Street.

Details: Officers were called in reference to Mr. Simpson who was known to be banned from the above location. Officers made contact with Simpson and charged him with the above. Simpson was taken to HPD where he was processed and later transported to the PSB.

Location: 700 S 1st Ave
Arrestee: Ambrosio Ybarra (M) (20) of Rossville 
Details: At the above time during a traffic stop the subject was located taken into custody on the Vermilion County 2015CM191 FTA 300 cash bond plus $75 FTA Fee.  Subject transported to HPD Processed and released.  Given new court date to Danville.

Complainant: 52 year old Milford Resident 
Details: It was reported that several items were removed from the residence without permission of the owner.   Investigation Continues 
 
Wanted on Warrant (Owen Co, IN) H17-4731 V17-10740
Time: 5:30 pm
Location: 600 blk E McCracken
Arrestee: Richard Jenkins (41) of Hoopeston
Details: Officers were dispatched to the above in reference to a possible dispute. A 
computer check revealed the above male had a warrant through Owen County,
Indiana. He was transported to HPD, processed, and transported to the PSB
to await extradition. 
 
Aggravated Battery H17-4759    V17-10778
Time: 03:35 am
Location: 500 S Sixth Avenue, Parkview Court Apartment Complex
Complainant: 17 year old Hoopeston Female 
Arrested: Stewart, Kendall A (22) (M) of Hoopeston 
Details: Hoopeston Police were summoned to the area for an altercation that had taken place.  Victim reported injuries and had to be transported to Carle Hoopeston Hospital.  Male was taken into custody on the above charge.  Transported to PSB Danville to await arraignment.

Arrested: Rashaid Burke (27) Danville male
Details: HPD officers stopped Mr. Burke on a traffic violation.  A computer check 
revealed that subject had an outstanding warrant through Vermilion County.
He was arrested, taken to HPD and processed.  Subject was later released after
paying bond and given a new court date.
 
Unlawful Use of Weapon, Unlawful Possession of Weapon by Felon, IL DOC Warrant
H17-4773 V17-10801
Time: 11:45pm
Location: 200 blk S Market
Arrested: Dakota Hanlin (25) Rossville male
Details: HPD officers received report that there was a male subject in the area armed with
a weapon.  Upon making contact with Mr. Hanlin, a search was performed and
a weapon was located on his person.  He was arrested and taken to HPD.  IL DOC
issued a warrant for his arrest, and he was later taken to the PSB in Danville to
await arraignment.

Possession Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of Cannabis H17-4613

Location: 400 block of E. Honeywell
Arrestees: Jamie Wyatt (21) of Hoopeston 
Coty Morgeson (27) of Hoopeston
Ashley Graves (25) of Hoopeston 
Details: Officers were called to the above in reference to possible drug activity. 
After an investigation the above listed were taken to HPD, Morgeson and Graves were charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia , Wyatt was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Cannabis. The subjects were processed and later released with a NTA in city court.
 
Residential Burglary, Meth Precursors, Possession 
Controlled Substance, H17-4625    
Time: 03:45 am 
Location: 300 block S Market Street 
Complainant: 35 year old Hoopeston Woman 
Arrested: Habied, Allison M (F) (33) Hoopeston 
Details: The arrested subject was located in the 300 block S Market, after a locating a vehicle she had been driving.   Burglary incident occurred in the 800 block of S 2nd Ave.  Other charges stem from investigation of the complaint.   Habied was transported to Vermilion County Jail to await arraignment.

Location: 4th St/Seminary
Arrested: Angel Bane (37) Hoopeston female
Details: HPD officers checked out with Ms. Bane having previously known that she had
an outstanding warrant through Vermilion County.  A computer check confirmed
the warrant, and she was arrested and taken to HPD.  She was unable to post bond
and was later transported to the PSB in Danville.
 
Assault Complaint H17-4643

Location: 300 block West Penn Street 
Complainant: 32 year old Hoopeston Male 
Arrested: Alexis M Halley (F) (21) of Hoopeston 
Details: At the above time the complainant contacted HPD reference to the arrestee coming to the residence and made threats of bodily harm to him.   Female was located at her residence a short time later, transported to HPD processed and released on Notice to Appear paper work for Hoopeston City Court.

Unit 2: Parked 2009 Pontiac Sedan Owner Keri A. Kaag of Hoopeston 
Details:   Unit 1 was backing out of a driveway and struck Unit 2 which was unoccupied.
Both units insured, No tickets and No Injuries.

Details: Owner of Unit 2 came to HPD to report his vehicle was hit sometime during this day, causing extensive damage to his
vehicle.  Suspect driver of Unit 1 has not been identified yet.

Unit 1: 1999 Ford Ranger driven by James W Roach (58) (M) of Hoopeston 
Unit 2: 2015 Chevy Cruz driven by Joshua M Johnson (22) (M) of Hoopeston 
Details: Unit 1 was travelling southbound on N Market Street failed to stop for the traffic control device, struck Unit 2 that was halfway through the intersection.  No injuries reported, both units insure.   Unit 1 cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.

Arrested: Curtis Miller (44) Rossville male
Details: While on patrol, HPD officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Mr. Miller was driving.  A computer check revealed that subject had an outstanding warrant
through Vermilion County for Failure to Appear.  Subject was arrested and taken
to HPD.  He was processed and later released after posting bond and given a
new court date.

Details: Officers conducted a routine traffic stop due to improper registration lighting, after further investigation Mr. Cannon was charged with the above and taken to HPD where he was processed and later transported to the PSB to await arraignment.

Details: Officers responded to the above location reference a theft report.
An investigation continues. 
CASE SOLVED:   After investigation was complete,  On October 31, 2017  at 10:45 am  Max A. Jones (45) was charged with THEFT OVER.  Subject was already in custody at PSB on unrelated charges from Vermilion County SO.

Location: 300 blk E Main
Complainant: 45 year old Hoopeston male
Arrested: Elyscha C Wells (20) of Hoopeston
Details: On the above date and time,  the complainant called from Hospital advising he was battered the night before and is now seeking treatment.  After a 3 day investigation and interviews, the above subject was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Battery.  He was transported to PSB for Arraignment.
