Victim's Courage Leads to Prison Sentence for Domestic Abuser

On September 1, 2026, Bryce Tucker (DOB: 10/25/1983), formerly of Danville, Illinois, pleaded guilty to Aggravated Domestic Battery, a class 2 felony, and was sentenced to 7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, which will be served at 85%. Following his term of imprisonment, the defendant will serve 4 years of mandatory supervised release. The plea and sentencing were presided over by Judge Mark S. Goodwin.
The People presented evidence that, on March 26, 2025, Vermilion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a local hospital regarding a report of a domestic battery victim who had sustained injuries. The victim, who was a family or household member of Tucker, as defined by Illinois law, arrived at the hospital and reported to medical personnel that Tucker had caused her injuries. The victim told law enforcement that she had agreed to give Tucker a ride following a medical procedure. She drove him to his residence. Upon their arrival, an argument ensued, and Tucker dragged the victim into the residence. The victim explained that, while previously living with Tucker, she had purchased two Glock handguns using her valid Illinois Firearm Owners
Identification (FOID) Card, and stated that Tucker was prohibited from legally possessing firearms due to a prior domestic violence conviction. The victim believed Tucker had previously taken both handguns and given them to a friend because he was afraid he would harm himself. During the violent encounter on March 26, 2025, Tucker refused to allow the victim to leave, choked her, obtained a handgun, and struck her. The victim recognized the handgun as one of the Glock firearms she had purchased. Having previously experienced Tucker’s abuse, the victim was ultimately able to calm him down. While the victim was recovering from her injuries, the defendant demanded sex, and the victim reluctantly complied because she feared further physical
harm and believed Tucker still had the handgun in the room. Tucker eventually allowed the victim to leave the residence, at which time she went to a local hospital for treatment.Investigators with the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department subsequently obtained video footage documenting the beginning of the domestic battery. Together with the victim’s medical records and visible injuries, the footage corroborated the victim’s account of the criminal
conduct.

Tilton Man Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison for Distributing Child Pornography

On August 11, 2026, Ryan Emory (DOB: 5/3/2001), formerly of Tilton, Illinois, pleaded guilty to Child Pornography, a class X felony, and was sentenced to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Following his term of imprisonment, the defendant will serve 3 years to natural life of mandatory supervised release, to be determined by the Prison Review Board. The plea and sentencing were presided over by Judge Karen E. Wall. The People presented evidence that between August 20, 2024 and January 28, 2025, 11 separate CyberTips, for separate messaging accounts linked by the use of the same Internet Protocol (IP) address in Tilton, Illinois, were sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, for reports of dissemination of child pornography. Through an investigation by Special Agentswith the Illinois State Police, it was determined that Ryan Emory’s specific mobile phone number and mobile device were used to send messages on those accounts, using the IP address in
Tilton. Communications were recovered that showed Ryan Emory talking about and agreeing to send child pornography. Information confirmed dissemination of 12 total files, 11 with prepubescent children and one moving depiction of a child under the age of 18, all engaged in sexual acts, and in various stages of undress. During an interview with law enforcement, the defendant admitted to creating multiple messaging accounts and using 25 different email accounts, including names associated with the recovered files. The defendant also admitted to having child pornography images and videos and using his mobile device associated with the investigation. Emory admitted to disseminating and receiving multiple files of child pornography.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the Illinois State Police for their thorough investigation and for crimes against children and their dedicating to protect children. She added, “Those who participate in the distribution of child pornography must be held accountable for the ongoing damage they cause. My office will continue to work to protect the most vulnerable members of our community. This 15-year prison sentence sends a clear message that those who commit these horrific crimes will face serious consequences.”

Vermilion County Woman gets 8 Year Prison Sentence for Aggravated Battery to Child Victims

On September 17, 2026, Amadius Watson (DOB: 8/3/1973), formerly of Danville, Illinois, pleaded guilty to two counts of Aggravated Battery to a Child, both class 3 felonies. Following her term of imprisonment, the defendant will serve 6 months of mandatory supervised release and will be required to register under the Illinois Violent Offender Against Youth Registry. The plea and sentencing were presided over by Judge Karen E. Wall. The People presented evidence that on September 19, 2025, three students at a local school were suspected of being victims of abuse due to visible injuries. Officers with the Danville Police Department conducted interviews of the minor victims, along with school staff and investigators with the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services. It was determined that Amadius Watson, the grandmother of the minor victims, hit the children with a cord wrapped in tape. The children’s injuries included scarring on various parts of their bodies, consistent with their
statements to police. Through the investigation, police also determined that the defendant would lock the minor victims in the basement, only allowing them out of the basement to go to school, which had occurred the night before the initial police report.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the Danville Police Department, the Department of Child and Family Services, the school staff, and the Vermilion County Child Advocacy Center, for their collaborative work in this investigation. State’s Attorney Lacy said, “Children deserve to feel safe, especially in the care of their family members. This defendant’s actions, causing harm to her own grandchildren, represents a serious breach of trust. This sentence holds the defendant accountable and reinforces the commitment of my office, and our continued work with law enforcement, to protect our most vulnerable citizens and to pursue justice on their behalf.”
