Hoopeston Police Department Report 10/23-10/25

Domestic Battery (2 Counts) H17-4408 V17-10271
Time: 3:37pm
Location: 600 block of E. Main
Arrestee: Danny Justice Sr. (43) of Hoopeston
Details: Officers were dispatched to the above residence in reference to a domestic battery that had just occurred. Mr. Justice was taken to HPD where he was processed, and later transported to the PSB to await arraignment.

Complainant:  31 year old Hoopeston female
Details:    Complainant contacted HPD in reference to unknown subject(s) entered her
   apartment without permission.  An investigation continues.
 
Criminal Trespass to State Supported Property H17-4442

Location:    426 E Honeywell, Centennial Manor Apts
Complainant:  65 year old Hoopeston female
Details:    Complainant contacted HPD in reference to unknown subject(s) entered her
   apartement without permission.  An investigation continues. 
 
Warrant Arrest, Driving While License Suspended, Operating Uninsured Vehicle  
H17-4463 V17-10330
Time: 11:18pm
Location: 714 W Orange, Marathon
Arrested: Nicole Taylor (34) Georgetown female
Details: While on patrol, HPD officers pulled over Ms. Taylor on a traffic stop.  A
computer check revealed that she had an outstanding warrant through Vermilion
County for Failure to Appear, and she had no valid driver’s license.  Subject
was arrested, taken to HPD and processed.  She received traffic citations and
a traffic court date for Driving While License Suspended and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.  She was unable to post bond, so she was transported to the
Public Safety Building in Danville to await arraignment.
 

Hoopeston Police Department Report 10/17-10/22

Driving While License Revoked H17-4301
Time: 12:57am
Location: 5th Av/Orange
Arrested: Denise Buckner (46) Gilman female
Details: While on patrol, HPD officers stopped the vehicle that Ms. Buckner was 
driving.  A computer check revealed that subject’s license was revoked.  She
was taken to HPD, processed and later released after paying bond.  She was 
given a traffic citation and court date.
 
Carrying Concealed Weapon, Possession of Cannabis Prohibited (city citations)  H17-4315
Time: 11:42pm
Location: 1st Av/Penn
Arrested: Andres Garcia (20) Hoopeston male
Details: While on patrol, HPD officers stopped Mr. Garcia for a traffic infraction.  He 
was arrested for the above violations.  He was taken to HPD, processed and later
released with city citations and city court date.  
 
Criminal Damage to Auto (Under) H17-4342

Location: 300 block of S. 4th St
Complainant: 23 year old Hoopeston female 
Details: Complainant contacted HPD when she realized that someone had cut her 
tires sometime in the night. Investigation continues. 
 
Home Invasion H17-4332      V17-10142
Date & Time: October 19, 2017    4:30am
Location: 200 blk W Maple
Complainant: 24 year old Hoopeston female
Arrested: Terry L Williams (28) of Hoopeston
Details: Complainant advised Williams entered her residence while she was sleeping
and threatened her.  He was located at his residence and transported to
PSB for arraignment.

Details: Hoopeston man reported his purplish 10 speed bicycle missing.

Details: Officers responded to the above location reference a theft report.

Warrant Arrest H17-4347 V17-10172

Location: 700 blk S 1st Av
Arrested: Edward Puente (37) Chicago male
Details: HPD officers were called to the above location on a report of a disturbance. 
A computer check revealed that Mr. Puente had an outstanding IDOC warrant
for a parole violation.  He was taken the Public Safety Building in Danville to 
await extradition.
 
Traffic Accident H17-4363

Location: 600 blk W Washington
Unit #1: 2001 Ford F150 driven by Brandon Davis of Cissna Park, IL
Unit #2: 2014 Chevrolet 4D owned by Alyson Zarate of Rossville, IL
Details: Unit #1 was backing out of a driveway in the area of above and struck Unit
#2 that was parked and unoccupied on the south side of the roadway. Unit #1
and Unit #2 were both insured. No injuries and no citations.

Details: Employee advised that an unknown vehicle drove off without
Paying for gas.

Unit #1: 2006 Buick Lacerne driven by Roger G Hollen (73) of Hoopeston
Property: Utility Pole owned by Ameren
Details: Unit 1 was traveling southbound on 3rd Street when he became
distracted he hit the Utility pole owned by Ameren.
No citations issued.

Wanted on Warrant (Iroquois); Disobeying Stop Sign; Defective or No Brakes     H17-4399 
Date & Time October 22, 2017 11:48pm
Location: N. Dixie Highway/W. Thompson Ave
Arrested: Jaime N. Vinson (40) of Boswell IN
Details: While on a routine traffic stop a computer check revealed that Vinson had an active warrant out of Iroquois County. She was taken to HPD where she was issued her citations, processed and later transferred to the custody of Iroquois County.

Residential Burglary H17-4241
Date & Time: October 13, 2017    2:30pm
Location: Sprague Rd in Hoopeston
Complainant: 80 year old Hoopeston man
Details: Complainant reported unknown subject (s) entered his 
residence and removed items without his permission.
 
 
Traffic Accident H17-4244
Time: 5:13pm
Location: 700 block of S. 1st Ave
Unit #1: 1991 Chevrolet Pickup driven by Tina Lile of Hoopeston
Unit #2: 2011 Ford 4-Door driven by Gabrielle Doss of Hoopeston 
Unit #3: Buick 4-Door owned by Aaron Cannon of Hoopeston 
Details: Unit #1 was backing out of a parking space which caused Unit #2 to strike the back end of Unit #1 the forward momentum caused Unit #1 to strike Unit #3 which was unoccupied and parked. Upon investigation of Unit #3 it was discovered that the vehicle had a false registration sticker and was not insured. The driver of Unit #1 was cited for Improper backing and the owner of Unit #3 was cited for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Unlawful Display on a Vehicle of Any Registration Not Authorized for Use on Such Vehicle. Mr. Cannon was processed and released with a court date. 
Unit #1 & 2 were both insured. No report of injury. 
 
Criminal Damage to Property (Under); Assault H17-4251

Location: 300 block of N. 6th Ave
Arrested: Robert Colunga (26) of Hoopeston
Details: Officers were called to the above in reference to a possible domestic disturbance. After speaking to everyone officers charged Colunga with the above, transported him to HPD where he was processed and later released with a Notice to Appear. 
 
 
Disorderly Conduct H17-4258
Time: 10:15 AM
Location: Parkview Court Apartments 
Complainant: Hoopeston Male 
Arrested: Miller, Melinda Rae (36) (F) Watseka 
Details: At the above time the Complainant called and reported that he just interrupted the arrestee trying to gain entry to an apartment in the complex.  The arrestee was transported to HPD where she was issued an NTA on the above charge.   The Female was transported to Carle ER for evaluation due to not feeling well.

Complainant: 72 year old Hoopeston man
Details: Complainant reported sometime during night unknown person(s)
attempted to make entry to his garage.  In doing so caused
damage.
 
Traffic Accident H17-4220
Time: 8:30pm
Location: S. Dixie Hwy/W. Elm St
Unit #1: 2015 Dodge 4door driven by Patricia Benison of Hoopeston 
Details: While driving S. bound on S. Dixie Hwy driver of Unit #1 struck a curb. Unit #1 was insured. No injuries reported. 
 

Hoopeston Police Department Report October 5-9, 2017

Burglary to Auto, Criminal Damage to State Supported Property H17-4095
Time: 11:02am
Location: 215 W Washington, Teasdale Foods
Arrested: 16 year old Hoopeston juvenile
Details: HPD was called to the above location in reference to the juvenile breaking
into several vehicles in the parking lot.  One of the complainants had the
subject detained until officers arrived.  Juvenile was arrested, taken to HPD
and processed.  While in custody, juvenile damaged a wall of the police 
department.  He was later transported to the juvenile detention center in Danville
to await arraignment.
 
Driving While License Suspended; Wanted on Vermilion County Warrant
Time: 1:47pm
Location: 200 block of Bank St
Arrested: Tonya K. Edwards () of Hoopeston
Arrested: Beau J. Edwards () of Hoopeston
Details: While on a routine traffic stop a computer check revealed the above female to not have a valid license and the male subject to have a valid warrant out of Vermilion County. They were both transported to HPD where the female was cited and released with a court date and where the male posted bond and was released with a new court date.  
 
Domestic Battery; Wanted on IDOC Warrant
Time: 3:46pm
Location: 1000 block of S. 2nd Ave
Arrested: Anthony Robertson (42) of Danville
Details: Officers responded to the above location in reference to possible domestic disturbance. After an investigation and a computer check the subject was charged with the above, taken to HPD, processed and later taken to the PSB to await arraignment.  
 
Trespassing (City Ordinance) H17-4111
Time: 1:49am
Location: 110 N 4th St, Hoopeston Public Library
Arrested: 16 year old Hoopeston juvenile
Details: While on patrol, HPD officers noticed juvenile on the public library steps.
Officers knew that he was previously trespassed from the property.  He was 
arrested, taken to HPD and processed.  Subject was later released to a parent
with a city citation and court date.
 
 
Fire Rescue Call
Time of Call: 12:35 pm
Location: State Route 9 W of 990 East Rd Hoopeston 
Details: HFD was dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries.  VC Sheriff was dispatched to handle. Arrow Ambulance from Hoopeston was dispatched for the injured.
 
Fire Call
Date & Time: October 8, 2017   5:12pm
Location: Centennial Manor Apartments
Details: HFD responded to above for activated fire and smoke alarms.
One of the residents was cooking.  HFD used fans to
eliminate the smoke.
 
Purchase/Acceptance of Alcohol by a Minor H17-4163
Time of Call: 11:36 pm
Date of Call: October 8, 2017
Location: 600 block E Elm Street
Arrestee: 17 year old Hoopeston Female Minor
Details: At the above time and date, Hoopeston Officers were summoned to the area reference to an underage person, who may have consumed to much alcoholic beverages.  Arrow ambulance was dispatched at the request of their Parent on the scene, and the minor was transported to the hospital for their safety.  Notice to Appear was issued for Hoopeston City Court Date.

Complainant: 51 yo Hoopeston male
Details: Officers responded to the above location in reference to a criminal damage
complaint. An investigation continues.
 
Wanted on Warrant H17-4062 V17-9688
Time: 12:14am
Location: 500 block of W. Elm
Arrested: Matthew M. Hofer (31) of Hoopeston 
Details: Officers attempted to locate the above male who they knew to have an active warrant out of Vermilion County. The male was located, transported to HPD where he was processed and later transported to the PSB.
 
Burglary from Motor Vehicle H17-4074 V17-9710
Time: 5:04 pm
Location: 600 blk E. McCracken
Complainant: 43 yo Rossville male
Arrested: Kevin L. Robbins (22) of Hoopeston
Details: Officers responded to the above location in reference to a possible altercation. Once on scene, they discovered Robbins had burglarized a vehicle at that location. He was transported to HPD where he was processed and later transported to the PSB. 
 
Found Wallet
Details: A black wallet was turned into HPD. Owner can claim it at HPD.

Traffic Accident H17-3947
Date & Time: September 28, 2017   10:42am
Location: 4th Ave & Maple
Unit 1: Unidentified, left scene
Damaged Property: Yield sign owned by City of Hoopeston
Details: A loud crash revealed that and unknown vehicle hit
the city owned yield sign on the street and kept
traveling westbound from the scene.
 
Driving While License Revoked, Operating Uninsured Vehicle H17-3977
Time: 2:32am
Location: 100 blk N 3rd St
Arrested: George Eleopoulos (61) Hoopeston male
Details: While on routine patrol, officers noticed Mr. Eleopoulos swerving all over the
road.  Officers preformed a traffic stop.  A computer check revealed that his 
driver’s license was revoked.  He was arrested, taken to HPD and processed.
He was later released after posting bond and he was given 2 traffic citations and
court date.
 
 
 
Driving While Suspended H17-3998
Date & Time: September 30, 2017  6:30
Location: Lincoln & 6th st
Arrested: Joshua E Lane (41) of Hoopeston
Details: During routine traffic stop a computer check on the driver
revealed his Illinois Driver’s License to be suspended.
He was released from the scene with a Notice to Appear in
Vermilion county court
 
Warrant Arrest H17-4000
Date & Time: September 30, 2017   6:40pm
Location: Lincoln & 6th st
Arrested: Rachel A Lane (29) of Potomac
Details: Subject was taken into custody on outstanding Ford County
warrant for Failure To Appear/Forgery.  She was unable to
post bond and was extradited to Ford County
 
Warrant Arrest, Possession of Controlled Substance H17-4023 V17-9609
Time: 8:18pm
Location: 7th St/McCracken Av
Arrested: Dale Simpson (28) Hoopeston male
Details: While on routine patrol, officers stopped the vehicle that Mr. Simpson was
a passenger in.  A computer check revealed that he had an outstanding Vermilion
County warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance.  Subject was arrested
and taken to HPD.  He was processed and later transported to the PSB in Danville
to await arraignment.
 
Traffic Accident H17-4034
Time: 3:15 pm
Location: 500 blk S. Third St. in the alleyway
Unit 1: 2008 Volkswagen 4D driven by a 17 yo Hoopeston female
Details: Unit 1 was traveling westbound in the alley when it struck a Frontier utility
pole. Unit 1 was insured. No tickets issued. No injuries reported.
