Details: HPD called to residence reference a domestic. Officers will continue to investigate and the Report was sent to the States Attorney’s office. No arrests were made at this time.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the ramp from eastbound Interstate 74 to Lynch Road in Danville will close Oct. 31. The closure is necessary for repairs to the I-74 bridges over Lynch Road. Work is expected to be complete by Nov. 4. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment. Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 2,500 miles of highway and nearly 10 million square feet of bridge deck as part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation. Accomplishments through Year Three of Rebuild Illinois included approximately $8.6 billion of improvements statewide on 4,422 miles of highway, 412 bridges, and 621 additional safety improvements. Details: HPD officers were called several times to the above location for Mr. Torres being loud.
The complainant decided to sign a complaint and Mr. Torres was arrested. He was taken
to HPD to be processed and was later released with a city citation and city court date.

speaking to all parties, Mr. Carrasquillo was arrested of city ordinance violation of battery.
He was brought to HPD, processed and later released with a citation and city court date.

A computer search found her Illinois license was revoked. She was then cited and released with a county court date.

Details: Vehicle fire was west of the intersection. Fire was put out prior to arrival, HFD responded and double checked the situation. No report of injury or damage.

These sTEPs allowed the ISP to provide increased enforcement for impaired driving, occupant restraint, speeding, and distracted driving violations during the National “Click It or Ticket” Campaign.

Details: At the time of the call, HPD was notified of a reckless driver who came off State RT 9 onto Euclid Av. The unit left the roadway into a yard and then hit a tree as they were backing off the property.
Carnaghi’s Towing was requested for the unit which was towed unit the PNT Ordinance. No Injuries reported. Driver was released from the scene on citation for Vermilion County Courthouse Danville

Structure Fire Call

Details: At the above time, a motorist called 9-1-1 and advised that smoke was showing upon arrival of the first unit. HPD, HFD, and Arrow all responded to the call. No estimate of damage, no injuries reported.
On October 5, 2022, the Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Zone 3 officials arrested Xavier Harris, 22-year-old male of Bradley, IL for two counts of Obstructing Justice (Class 4 Felony), and two counts of Concealing or Aiding a Fugitive (Class 4 Felony).
On December 29, 2021, at approximately 9:41 p.m., the Bradley Police Department responded to the Comfort Inn, 1500 north State Route 50, for reported dogs barking in an unattended vehicle which was parked in the parking lot. Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic was shot and killed. Officer Tyler Bailey was also shot and critically wounded. Darius Sullivan and Xandria Harris were subsequently arrested for First Degree Murder.
On October 7, 2022 Xavier Harris was issued a bond of $75,000, 10% to apply. Harris is jailed at the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee, IL.
“Today’s charges are the result of our collective commitment to ensure that every individual who aided and assisted in the events of December 29, 2021, are held accountable. I commend the Illinois State Police for never giving up and for continuing to bring all involved to justice. Including the four offenders charged by Indiana authorities, this Defendant is the 7th to be charged overall.” – Kankakee County State’s Attorney, Jim Rowe.

WHERE: US Highway 150, just east of Olmstead Road, near Oakwood, Vermillion County
WHEN: October 5, 2022 at approximately 4:05 p.m.
VEHICLES: Unit 1 – 2022 Red Dodge Charger
Unit 2 – 2020 Gray GMC Sierra Truck
DRIVERS: Unit 1 – 68-year-old male from Danville, IL – Deceased (Name release pending next-of-kin notification).
Unit 2 – Michael A. Palmer, 35-year-old male from Danville, IL – Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY: A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling east on US Highway 150, just east of Olmstead Road. Unit 2 was traveling west on US Highway 150 at the same location. Unit 1 was traveling behind a vehicle, passed it, and struck Unit 2 head-on. The driver of Unit 1 was pronounce deceased on scene. The driver of Unit 2 was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All lanes were reopened at approximately 7:25 p.m. The crash remains under investigation and no further information is available.

Details: Driver of Unit 1 stated that she was North bound on S 5th St in the 100 block when a vehicle approaching her failed to dim their headlights. Driver of Unit 1 stated that she believed that car was close to the middle of the road so she swerved to the right and hit an Ameren utility pole. Vehicle was insured
and no tickets were issued.

The Vermilion County Coroner, Jane McFadden stated that a two vehicle accident that occurred early Sunday, October 2, 2022 on Catlin-Indianola Road in Indianola claimed the lives of Lee J. Hall, age 52, Felisha J. Hall, age 46, and their daughter, Madison G. Hall age 18 all of Oxford, Indiana.
Autopsies are is scheduled for tomorrow. The Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office, the Illinois State Police and the Vermilion County Coroner’s office continue to investigate.

Details: Unit 1 and Unit 2 both approached the intersection at the same time. Unit 1 failed to Yield at a posted intersection for their side of the intersection. Unit 2 had the right away travelling South bound. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 in front driver’s quarter panel. Unit 2 was insured. No Injuries report. Mr. Carswell was issued a citation for no valid insurance.
